Supporting Kidds Inc., The Center for Grieving Children and Their Families, provides:

Support groups for bereaved children ages 5 to 18 and their caregivers which focus on preventing long-term negative effects of unresolved grief on children. Through group discussion, artistic expression, movement activities, and journaling, participants learn positive coping tools and develop a sense of communi

ty. Caregivers learn about healthy grief and ways to support their grieving children. Individual, group and family psychotherapy services, as well as psychological assessment services, provide treatment under the supervision of a licensed psychologist. Group programs are also offered at schools for students experiencing grief and trauma, thereby averting school failure, substance abuse, depression, anxiety and other negative effects of loss. The Survival Kit for Families, a written manual about how children grieve and ways to support them in their grief, is available as a reference for families. The Survival Kit for Schools is provided to school guidance counselors, psychologists, nurses or other personnel to help them understand and support bereaved children and deal with loss in the school setting. Consultation and continuing education services are provided to professionals who work with grieving children, such as teachers, psychotherapists, day care providers, religious leaders, pediatricians, nurses, and school counselors. In addition, informal, supportive get-togethers are held for families, a lending library is available for all interested, educational programs are provided for the larger community, and information and referral services are offered to assist families in locating additional services and materials.

Supporting Kidds is seeking a School Based Bereavement Facilitator to lead grief support groups for children in schools throughout New Castle County during the 2026–2027 school year.

✨ Position Highlights:
β€’ Part-time, school-year schedule
β€’ 6–18 hours per week based on group assignments
β€’ Up to $40/hour (based on experience, education, and licensure)
β€’ All major school holidays, winter break, and summer break off
β€’ Comprehensive curriculum-based training provided

In this role, you'll facilitate grief support groups, help children navigate the death of a loved one, collaborate with school staff, and make a meaningful impact in the lives of grieving students.

We're looking for professionals with:
βœ” Experience providing therapeutic services related to grief and loss
βœ” Experience working with children in group settings
βœ” Strong counseling, facilitation, and communication skills
βœ” Master’s degree in a related field and Delaware licensure or licensure eligibility
