A 2025 Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) study led by NatureServe and collaborators found that 22.6% of native North American pollinators are at an elevated risk of extinction

Overall risk: 22.6% of assessed pollinators face elevated extinction risk.
Most threatened group: Bees - 34.7% of native bee species at risk, with leafcutter and digger bees among the most imperiled.
Other at-risk groups: butterflies (19.5%), moths (16.1%), flower flies (14.7%).
All three pollinating bat species are at risk.
