NationalBee

NationalBee Our mission is to improve Numeracy. NumbersBee sharpens children’s critical thinking, problem-solving, creative thinking and decision-making skills.

Since 2003 we are opening “Mathematical Eye” for children through fun, interactive, unique, live game show through our NumbersBee App and improve their math scores. The social nature of the game helps them to estimate the probability of success. Fluency with numbers is an integral & essential part of every curriculum in the USA & the world. Students can practice 24/7 for free. Quarterly tournament

for Elementary, Middle and Open will encourage the students and their family to practice & socialize. Study with 1,123 students in Grades 3-5, p = 0.000 DCAS – Delaware Comprehensive Assessment System “For every 100 minutes of Numbers Bee play, DCAS Math test scores increased by 12.8 points” https://www.numbersbee.com/Research

The ultimate goal of the program is to help students develop fluency with numbers (numeracy) early in their education. Although numeracy and math are skills tied closely with logic and rationality, many people exhibit a sort of anxiety when it comes to performance because of a lack of confidence in the subject. This attitude can impede students from entering fields in which they are interested. This phenomenon is a lifelong feeling which adults can transfer to children if not addressed properly. By allowing students to measure their own improvements in Numbers Bee, we create an environment that builds confidence and improves skills simultaneously. It can improve a child’s problem solving skills, analytical thinking, and can boost confidence level. Speed and accuracy with numbers and operations can in turn provide enjoyment of math. Student’s fluency with numbers can help them succeed in today’s technological society. National Bee Inc. has run 17 annual state-wide Numbers Bee tournaments in Delaware for the past 20 years. Over 35,000 students have participated in Numbers Bee, and the entirety of the Red Clay School District, Christiana School District and Brandywine School District has embraced the program as well. This tournament draws in almost 200 students each year and acknowledges students from local schools for their achievements in math. Delaware schools use Numbers Bee as a fun teaching tool with students by including it in their day-to-day classroom agenda and training students with it in afterschool clubs. Problem:

Poor numeracy is a problem in its own right. People who struggle to use numbers may feel embarrassed by their difficulties, and this can affect their confidence and self-esteem. They may be unable to help their children with their math homework and be reluctant to apply for a more demanding job. They may fail to manage their money well or to get the best deals when shopping. The relationship between poor numeracy and more general disadvantage is complex and not dependent on simple cause and effect. And yet there are some striking associations with employment, social, emotional and behavioral difficulties, school exclusions and truancy. Right now, you have students. Eventually, those students will become the citizens -- employers, employees, professionals, educators, and caretakers of our planet in 21st century. Beyond mastery of standards, what can you do to help prepare them? What can you promote to be sure they are equipped with the skill sets they will need to take on challenges and opportunities that we can't yet even imagine? United States ranks 30 out of 65 countries and Delaware students score below the US average score. In 2018, US students rank 37th out of 78 countries in PISA Math Scores. There is a huge need to improve the math scores of our students. In Delaware, students in Red Clay Consolidated and Christina School districts perform well below the state average math scores.
