A big thank you to Pacific Autism Learning Services (PALS) for their generous sponsorship of ASAT at the Partner level. Under the direction of Dr. Gregory Buch, the clinicians at Pacific Autism Learning Services work with families in Northern California to create an evidenced-based treatment package that builds on each child’s unique strengths. Early and intensive ABA programs are individualized for each child and focus on communication, cognitive, social, and self-help skills. Whenever possible services are provided in the child’s natural environment, at home, preschool, or in the community with family and peers.

In this installment of Is There Science Behind That?, Elizabeth Hardesty, MA, BCBA, Kassidy Ashbeck, MS, and Thomas Zane, PhD, BCBA-D, review the research on camel milk as a treatment to support individuals with autism. The authors found limited research on the use of camel milk to improve behavior in individuals with autism. Furthermore, the available research was of low quality and did not show that the treatment was effective. Read the article to learn more about the research on camel milk and alternative evidence-based treatments that can support individuals with autism.
