Hoboken Cove Community Boathouse The Hoboken Cove Boathouse is a non-profit public boathouse for the community of Hoboken and surrounding areas. Join us! We are a dedicated group of volunteers.

Free kayak, paddle board, outrigger canoe on the Hudson! Many of us are experienced kayakers and enjoy sharing our love of the Hudson river. Our goal is to promote free river access to the community. We run these free kayaking days in cooperation with the City of Hoboken. Hoboken Boathouse, in partnership with the City of Hoboken has sponsored free kayaking for the past nine years, serving over 6,

000 paddlers. The Hoboken Boathouse is a non-profit organization supported by volunteers, donations from local businesses, the community and boathouse space from the City of Hoboken.

Volunteers receive FREE advanced kayak + SUP instruction, opportunities to paddle all over the Hudson, and access to incredible short and long-distance trips you can’t find anywhere else.

🚣‍♀️ Opening Day is May 23! Join us in Hoboken as we kick off our 22nd year of FREE community kayaking, paddleboarding, and outrigger canoeing on the Hudson River.

We’re celebrating with the launch of our brand new logo and introducing exciting mini river trips—perfect for a quick paddle—alongside our classic longer adventures.

Everyone, all ages, even puppies! Whether you’re a first-timer or a returning paddler, come experience the water with us. No cost, just community. 🌊

Help us continue to provide our free program for another year! Any donation size can help us towards paying our operational expenses including our insurance which has been increasing a lot over the last few years.

There are not many free programs out there and affordability is tough. We want to make sure everyone, no matter their circumstances, have access to our beautiful waters!

It all started 22 years ago, a group of kayak enthusiasts, with the help of Downtown Boathouse and the City of Hoboken, decided to bring kayaking to the NJ side of the Hudson. For the first few years, before the boathouse was built, we towed the kayaks from NY. There was free kayaking 1-3 total per year.

Now we have over 4000 paddlers per year, we are open evey weekend during the summer, we have paddle boarding, outrigger canoeing, and a yearly race! All thanks to you, your donations, and our amazing volunteer crew that freely give many hours of their time.

📢 *EXTENDED HOURS* 📢
This Saturday July 26th we will be open from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM (last boat leaves at 3:30 PM). It's going to be sunny and hot, perfect day to spend it relaxing on a kayak!

FREE kayaking and paddle boarding for all. No experience necessary. We also have mini trips on a 6 person outrigger canoe from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm!

Reservations are not required or needed in any way. Just show up! We do have very limited reservation spots on our website for the rare occasion we have a line and you want to skip it (reservations require a $10 non refundable donation).

Hope to see y'all this Saturday. Come paddle, summer will be done before we know it!
