What a week with the Mu Old Guard out in Tempe, Arizona and to the Grand Canyon. There’s something powerful about standing in a place carved by time while surrounded by Brothers who have carried this Brotherhood across seven decades. Old friends, new faces, and the kind of conversations that remind you why these bonds still matter — and why they last.
This reunion has been a forty‑year Mu Chapter tradition, held every 18 months at locations across the country, and this year’s gathering lived up to that legacy.
Our itinerary took us across some unforgettable places:
• Rustler’s Rooste Steakhouse — a true Western kickoff (yes, including rattlesnake).
• Broken Arrow — Pink Jeep Rough Terrain Tour
• Montezuma Castle — a remarkable look into ancient ingenuity.
• Grand Canyon Railway — bus to Williams, train into the Canyon, classic and timeless.
• Arcosanti — the world’s first prototype arcology, where architecture meets imagination.
Every stop added something different: history, humor, perspective, and a sense of scale. The excursions were meaningful and energizing, and we captured it all — the landscapes, the laughter, the quiet moments, and the shared history.
The evening banquet and the Chi Phi anniversary pin ceremony were especially poignant, a reminder of the legacy we’re part of and the future we’re still building.
Grateful for the time together and already looking forward to the next gathering. Brotherhood isn’t nostalgia — it’s continuity. It’s presence. It’s showing up for each other across generations.
Many thanks to Frank Holman ’64 and his wife Rita for hosting this incredible week. And in exciting news: Steven Gauthier ’75 will be hosting the Chicago OG Reunion in Fall 2027. More to come. 😀
