If you usually pick up your holds from the lockers at the Main Library or the Hoboken Historical Museum, give us a call at 201-420-2346 x5102 this month and we'll set you up for pickup inside the library instead:

Heading to the Main Library? The main entrance is closed during renovation, so please use the Park Avenue side entrance or the elevator entrance.

REGISTER TO VOTE, HOBOKEN! 🗳️ The City Clerk’s Office is staying open late to help you get registered!

Want to vote in the Nov. 3 general election? If you’re not yet registered, the deadline is Tuesday, Oct. 13.

💻 Register online: https://voter.svrs.nj.gov/register
🏛️ Prefer to register in person? The City Clerk’s Office at 94 Washington St. will remain open until 9 PM on:
• Thursday, Oct. 8
• Friday, Oct. 9
• Tuesday, Oct. 13

📍 Enter through the Newark Street entrance between Washington Street and Bloomfield Street to submit your voter registration application.

Once registered, you can vote by mail, vote early in person from Oct. 24 through Nov. 1, or vote at your assigned polling place on Election Day, Nov. 3, from 6 AM to 8 PM.

Genre Defying Science Fiction: Written in Starlight and Prophet

Sometimes novels fit easily into categories, but these two Science Fiction novels cross boundaries. Written in Starlight merges space opera with romance, fantasy, and historic fiction. The Hoboken Public Library is truly saddened by the passing of Clark Matthews, who served as Secretary to our Board of Trustees for more than a decade.

His devotion to his work and his care for the people around him shaped this institution in ways both seen and unseen. We are grateful for his years of service and the gift of knowing him. Rest well.

A quick note for our Grand Street neighbors: the Grand Street Branch will be closed on Monday, October 12 in observance of the federal holiday. We'll reopen with regular hours on Tuesday, October 13.

If you need us that day, the Main Library at 500 Park Avenue is open. The 2nd floor and 3rd floor are open, and you can come in through the Park Avenue side entrance or take the elevator.

Back to our regular schedule! 📚

📍 Main Library: The 2nd floor and 3rd floor are open again, and Sunday hours are back! Come in through the Park Avenue entrance or take the elevator. Adult Fiction, Adult Non-Fiction, Reference, DVDs, audiobooks, video games, and museum passes are all on the 2nd floor. Work on the 1st floor and mezzanine continues, and you can find answers in the renovation FAQ, link in bio.

📍 Grand Street Branch: Your neighborhood spot at 124 Grand Street, on the 2nd floor of the Multi-Service Center, is back to regular hours, Monday through Saturday. Thank you for keeping it busy all summer!
