When I ran—and won—my first term on City Council in 2015, a lot of folks laughed when I said I wanted to reactivate Warrington Plaza and bring a European-style market to the train terminal.

Politics, at its best, is about ideas—and the belief that bold ones can become real. Nearly 10 years to the day I launched my campaign, construction at Warrington Plaza is finally underway. The first photo is from today. The others? Mockups I paid for out of pocket back then to help the community imagine what was possible.

The vision is now in writing—I helped author the redevelopment plan that enshrines this creative future for the site. But turning vision into reality now depends on the next mayor and city council.

That’s why November's Mayoral and City Council election matters.

I stand firmly for the quality of life I’ve helped build as both a public official and a private citizen—and I support leaders who can work with me to ensure Warrington Plaza becomes the community space I always imagined.

This is the long game. And it’s starting to bloom. 🌱

Got the last loaf from Losurdo Brothers. 🥖

This Thanksgiving, I’m reminded once again of what makes Hoboken such a special place. It’s a community where neighbors look out for each other, where families, young people, and seniors all come together in the streets, sharing in a tradition of connection and care.

But it’s also a bittersweet moment as we say goodbye to a beloved institution that has been serving this community for 50 years. Today, I picked up my last antipasti, my last loaf of bread, and thanked the family for everything they’ve given to Hoboken. Their contributions remind us of the value of local businesses and the lasting impact they can have on a community.

So this Thanksgiving, let’s take a moment to celebrate not just what we’ve accomplished, but what we can continue to do together. Wishing you and your families a day filled with gratitude, love, and hope for the future. Happy Thanksgiving. 🦃🍂❤️

With a heavy heart, I write these words in memory of my colleague and friend on the City Council, Council President Jen Giattino.

Jen had an incredible spirit and was a beacon of inspiration for the entire community. She was a compassionate force for good who understood and cared for people across all walks of life. Whether advocating for seniors, supporting our homeless community, or connecting with young professionals, Jen brought unmatched warmth and understanding to every interaction. Her professional accomplishments were many, yet she was grounded in her purpose and commitment to serving others. She was a fearless voice who spoke truth to power, and her dedication to our community set an example for everyone in public service.

My heart goes out to Joe and their children, and to everyone who loved her. Hoboken has lost a true champion, and her legacy will continue to inspire others for years to come. Rest in peace, Jen. Much love to my dear friend and colleague, and thoughts and prayers for her family.
