On Saturday, June 6, the Historic Apollo School is hosting Peggy O'Neill and her talented music students for a recital. Featuring a string quartet and several soloists, they will be a pleasure to hear. Join us on Saturday. The doors open at 3 p.m. for this free event.

The Historic Apollo School is happy to welcome back Peggie O'Neil and her students for a recital featuring a string quartet and several soloists on Saturday, June 6. Although they are students, they are all talented musicians and a pleasure to hear play.

Local Boy Scout John Azzi, working on his Eagle Scout rank, organized Troop 812 at the Historic Apollo School Foundation to beautify and landscape the front of the school. They pressure washed and sealed the entry walk and knee wall and planted 20 Cocoplum plants. We are extremely grateful to John for making this happen for the Historic Apollo School.

County Commissioner Blake Capps visited the Historic Apollo School during his tour of events celebrating Historic Preservation Month in Martin County.

Past recipients congratulate Barbara and Bruce Osborn tonight as they receive the award as Martin County Preservationists of the Year for 2026. To commemorate Historic Preservation Month in Martin County, the historic Apollo School will be open this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Learn about the only building in Hobe Sound listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Refreshments will be served.

Commission Chair Sarah Heard helped kick off Historic Preservation Month in Martin County Thursday night at the Stuart Heritage Museum. Join the Apollo School Foundation to commemorate preservation on Saturday, May 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Historic Apollo School, 9141 S.E. Apollo Street, Hobe Sound.

Thank you to Catherine Larsen, Keeper of the House, for concluding our 2026 Speaker Series last night in such an inspiring and memorable way as she introduced us to the county’s oldest building, the House of Refuge.
