A Gentle Whisper~
Child, ask me what you will. Imagine me sitting next to you; because I AM. See the compassion in my eyes. Feel the gentleness of my presence. I see you. I have not forgotten you. See my scars. I bear them even now as a reminder that I have inscribed you on my hands. I ever live to make intercession for you. I am your advocate. I am NOT against you. I am for you. The enemy tries to convince you of the opposite. Renew your mind on the truth of my love. Posture yourself in my presence as my child. I have granted you the right into my very throne room. I have given you the keys to overcome the evil one, to tearing down strongholds, for the building up of the saints. I will equip you. I will instruct you. I will lead you. Walk in the confidence of my love and good intent for you. You have NOTHING to fear. I will accomplish my purpose and provide for you abundantly. You only need to rest in my presence and watch my deliverance. I will show you your part. I will reveal my plans. Listen closely, and you will discover how to dance and co-create with me. Release control and let me take the lead. Then, you will find the joy I intended for your life.

A Gentle Whisper from God's Word:
Psalm 145:18-19: "The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them."
Romans 8:31-32: "What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?"
Hebrews 4:16: "Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need."

A Gentle Whisper Back:
Father, thank you for your love. Thank you for reminding me you are near. I surrender all my ambitions and exchange them for the one pursuit of knowing you and loving you! Lead me. Comfort me. And help me to better learn how to dance and co-create with you, allowing you to always take the lead.

Don’t Give Up–KEEP ON SWIMMING!

Hope is an amazing power: with it, men conquer great feats and overcome insurmountable obstacles…without it; they give in to a slow, agonizing, defeat.

I recently re-read a story about Florence May Chadwick, the first woman who attempted to swim the 26 mile stretch between Catalina Island and the California coastline. Fifteen hours after Florence began her chartered swim, a heavy fog set in, making it impossible to see the shoreline. She told her mother, who followed her in a boat to ensure her safety, that she didn’t think she could make it. She continued to swim for another hour before asking to be pulled out. Sitting in the boat, Florence discovered she was only one mile from her destination.

Friends, envision your “shoreline”… remember your end destination. Remember Who it is that called you. Hold fast to what He promised. Never forget Who you serve. And… Don’t ever give up.

Romans 8:28-32 says, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all — how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?” (NIV)

YOU are NOT alone. No matter how tired you are…no matter how thick “THE FOG” of your life attempts to discourage your hope…keep the Lord before you…remember His promises… envision your end destination…press on and reach your destined finish line!

DON’T GIVE UP! KEEP ON SWIMMING! God IS FOR YOU! And, IF GOD IS FOR YOU…who can stand against you?

Check out these amazing promises:
Isaiah 49:23, “…those who hope in me will not be disappointed.” (NIV)
Isaiah 40:31, “those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. (NIV)
Isaiah 54:4, “Do not be afraid; you will not suffer shame. Do not fear disgrace; you will not be humiliated.” (NIV)

Have a great weekend! And thanks for being my friend.

Will We Advance or Retreat?

Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “Whatever you do, you need courage. Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you that you are wrong. There are always difficulties arising that tempt you to believe your critics are right. To map out a course of action and follow it to an end requires some of the same courage that a soldier needs. Peace has its victories, but it takes brave men and women to win them.”

From time to time we all get disheartened, lose focus, or get side-tracked by the curve balls of life. During difficult, dry, seasons it’s easy to fall prey to the unfruitful thoughts of “I Wish I Could” or “Maybe I Should Have” or “I Wish I Would Have”.

But we must resist these tendencies and hold on to God’s call, standing firm and remembering what God has promised, holding fast to our confession of faith, and reminding ourselves, that God is faithful.

Isaiah 54:2-5 says, “Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. For you will spread out to the right and to the left; your descendants will dispossess nations and settle in their desolate cities. “Do not be afraid; you will not suffer shame. Do not fear disgrace; you will not be humiliated. You will forget the shame of your youth and remember no more the reproach of your widowhood. For your Maker is your husband — the LORD Almighty is his name — the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; he is called the God of all the earth. NIV

What has God promised you? What has He called you to do?

Dreaming big and walking in faith is never easy; it requires vulnerability yet tenacity. There’s a place in every battle where we must decide…will we advance or retreat?

Like Gideon, sometimes God calls us to lay down how we think we will win the battle and diminish our own resources, so there is no question where our victory comes from. God loves us enough to keep us dependent on HIM! But the good news is He is faithful and promises to work all things together for our good.

Rom 8:28-29, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” NIV

So, I encourage you today to…stretch your tent…lengthen your cords…drive your stakes in deep…God will deliver all He has promised to you.

Prayer: Father, help us to do what you’ve called us to do. Help us not get disheartened but to press on. Thank You that You are with us always and will never leave us or forsake us. Fill us with hope. We put our trust in You.

Today's Thought: God, unbound by time or space, sees our beginning from it's end; so when He whispered His promise to us in the past, He already saw it in its FULL fulfillment.

Today's Scripture: Genesis 18:10-14, Sarah heard the promise of God and "laughed to herself as she thought, "After I am worn out and my master is old, will I now have this pleasure?" Then the Lord said to Abraham ... Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return to you at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son.”

Today's Question: Will we trust God, even when all seems lost? Will we love Him, even when we don't see the evidence of our faith? Will we love God with our life?

Today's Prayer: Father, fill our mouths with laughter and our hearts with JOY as we choose to focus on WHO YOU ARE and trust You for ALL that YOU'VE promise.

Today's Thought:
Faith is NOT faith if it costs us nothing.
Faith is NOT faith if it seems easy.
Faith is NOT required when everything makes sense and all our dreams are evident.

Faith is trusting God to supply when the storehouse is empty.
Faith is believing in God's goodness when He seems to have disappeared.
Faith is resting in GOD's love when we feel overwhelmed or abandoned.
Faith is entrusting our loved ones to God, believing for their redemption, even when they retaliate.
Faith is standing firm, when we want to retreat.
Faith is held firm by our relationship and trust in God's character...WHO HE IS...and HIS good intent toward us.

Today's Scripture: Hebrews 12:1-3

Today's Question: What are you searching for today? What are you hoping for? What are you trying to stand firm and believe GOD for? Whatever it may be; consider HIM!

Today's Prayer: Father, cause faith to rise within us. May we be absolutely assured of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see!
