As we wrap up the year, our office is currently operating short-staffed through the holidays. Our team is taking some much-needed PTO before year-end, and a few of us are navigating health matters, but please know we are still here and doing our very best to serve our community.

📌 What to know:
• Office hours will be staggered over the next couple of weeks
• If you need assistance, please reach out to us here on social media or call our 211 cell phone (575-408-1700)
• We will respond as quickly as possible to all messages and calls

🔥 Heater Update:
We are currently out of heaters, but more are on order and will be available soon. Thank you for your patience and understanding, and we’ll share updates as they arrive.

✨ And don’t worry, we’re already planning what’s next!
Stay tuned for exciting United Way updates and initiatives coming in January and February as we kick off a strong new year together.

Help us keep our community warm this winter! United Way of Lea County 2-1-1 is collecting new or gently used coats for those in need.

Today we had the absolute honor of joining Option Inc.’s Tone Deaf Tidings to help say “see you later” (not goodbye 💛) to Megan as she wraps up her incredible time as Executive Director at CASA of Lea County

Her amazing staff requested a few iconic songs to make it special, so we happily serenaded her with “Bye Bye Bye” and “Hit the Road Jack”. There were lots of laughs, lots of love, and a whole lot of appreciation packed into one fun moment.

The best part? We’re not really losing Megan at all. We simply get to celebrate her leadership in a new role, and we’re excited that she’ll continue serving our community through another nonprofit under our United Way umbrella.

Congratulations, Megan!! We are so proud of you, grateful for all you’ve done, and excited for what’s next on your journey. 💙🎶

We dreamed it, we planned it, we made it appear, Project Santa’s PJs was filled with good cheer!🎄 With Santa and snow and a train ride too,

So thankful for these sweet volunteer friends who gave their time (and talent!) to help wrap presents for PDAP’s Wrap Extravaganza Fundraiser. What a fun and meaningful way to support an incredible nonprofit that pours so much love back into our community.

✨ ’Twas the night before Project Santa’s PJs, and all through the Commons,
Not a detail was missed, the setup was on!
PJs were stacked, blankets fluffed, books ready to share, earbuds, socks, and smiles waiting everywhere.

✨ Tomorrow at 9AM, the doors will open wide,
With families together, standing side by side.
Children must be present, so please bring a parent or guardian too.
This event is for kids, not a grab-and-go, but a moment to share with you.

We can’t wait to welcome you and spread holiday cheer,

Our sweet friends at Leaders Industries Community-Hobbs, New Mexico showed up in the BEST way!
They held their very own sock drive for 211 and collected around 500 pairs of socks to give back to our community.

Women United and David from Lea County Center for the Arts spent this past Saturday in full festive mode, helping kids create beautiful Christmas wreaths to donate to our local nursing home! 🎄❤️

Today, we had the absolute honor of delivering those wreaths to the residents and their smiles lit up the whole room when we shared that they were handmade by local kids. Talk about heart-warming moments. 🥹✨

We’re so grateful for the opportunity to spread a little joy, connection, and community spirit this season.

Women United is already dreaming up more activities, collaborations, and impact for next year and we can’t wait. ❤️🎁
