Blessings in a Backpack - Lea County is proud to announce that we have teamed up with Blessings in a Backpack - Madison County and with The Word At Work to collect much needed school supplies for the children in Belize.

We will be collecting the following: Composition notebooks (this is a big need), pencils, crayons, markers, notebooks, notebook paper, rulers, glue, erasers, etc......

OUR MISSION: We believe every child deserves to go to school prepared to learn! So many of these children face obstacles to their education and development and often it is impossible for their parents to buy them the school supplies and backpack they should have to start the new school year. Ensuring that children have the necessary supplies to participate in school can have a dramatic effect because it helps children stay in school, promotes learning, and encourages self-esteem. Our hope is to provide children not only in Lea County but also across the world with a new backpack loaded with the needed school supplies.

We started dropping off backpacks today and we will continue throughout the rest of the week.

The past week has been amazing with more and more donations handed over to Blessing in a Backpack -Lea County.

I know we forgot to mention a couple individuals and their donations.

We just want to thank each and every business and individual who donated to this cause.

Blessings in a Backpack - Lea County want to thank everyone who donated to our Outreach/Ministry.

Starting today we will be handing out the backpacks filled with the needed school supplies to Lea County administrators and teachers.

We set our goal for the first year to fill 15-20 backpacks but in our heart we imagined and prayed that we could raise enough donations to fill 50 backpacks.

All I can say is that our prayers have been answered and we will do at least 50.

God is good!!!

Backpacks are being filled up with the needed school supplies.

We will start handing out needed backpacks to local schools tomorrow.

School starts in less than a week. If you want to help with this great cause we are still accepting donation of backpacks, school supplies or a monetary donation.

Praying that we can give 50 backpacks filled with school supplies away to local kids.
