We still need instruments! Help us put music into the hands of our kids and make this event truly unforgettable. This is a great opportunity for them to explore, learn, and experience the joy of making music, but we need your help to make it happen.

We are currently accepting donated instruments for the kids to play. All donations are tax-deductible, and every contribution makes a real impact. Please note: due to space limitations, we are unable to accept large or full-size pianos.

If you have an instrument collecting dust, consider giving it a second life in the hands of a young musician!

2026 Summer Sessions! 🎻

Here is an opportunity to join our wonderful orchestral family! We not only learn to play string instruments, but have fun together as friends of music! Whether you are a complete beginner who has never touched a violin or cello, or an experienced player, we have a place for you! No music reading knowledge required either!

Don’t know what to play? Join us on June 15 from 5-7pm to try out and pick an instrument, as well as meet with our teachers and directors. Returning members can also come by to pay tuition and audition for the advanced orchestra.

Rehearsals will happen on Mondays at 6pm beginning on June 29.

Tuition this year is only $25!
All people ages 10+ welcome.

All activities will take place at Lea County Center for the Arts
122 W. Broadway St.
Hobbs, NM 📍

We look forward to seeing everyone again! If you have any questions please contact us! 🎻

I have the unique opportunity to attend AFTACON in Albuquerque, the Annual Convention of Americans for the Arts. I’m excited to grow my understanding of the arts and explore how to apply what I learn to make LCCA stronger and continue supporting the arts in Lea County.
Here’s to Day 1.

I am truly honored to receive the Outstanding Young Man Award from the Hobbs Chamber of Commerce. This recognition means more to me than I can fully express, and I hope to always live up to what it represents.

I continue to be in awe of this community and the incredible leaders who pour so much into making Hobbs such a special place. It’s a privilege to be part of something bigger than myself.

A special thank you to our keynote speaker, Salem S. Thyne, for a powerful reminder that failure can be a launching point for great success, and that taking care of yourself along the way matters just as much.

I also want to sincerely thank Robert Guthrie for the nomination. Robert is a true friend, not just to me, but to so many in our community. The work he and his team do changes lives and gives people a real chance to start over, and I am grateful for his example.

And most importantly, thank you to my wife Kalea Blackwood. Your unwavering support, especially in the hard seasons, is a constant reminder of what true success really looks like. I wouldn’t be here without you.

I am beyond blessed and deeply grateful.
