It had been a long standing tradition at our post to offer the family of a deceased resident of Lea County a place to gather and have a meal in remembrance of that loved one.
We are going to have to rethink this as our post hall and established rules and regulations set forth by the state of New Mexico have not been followed and quite honestly, have been disrespected.
Trashed restrooms, to include un-flushed 💩 and beer cans. Twisted Tea and buzz ball containers in the parking lot. Thank you to the group that did this.
If you still want to utilize our hall it will now be granted with written rules and a deposit. This cannot be tolerated no more.
Respectfully,
Mark Bowman
Post Adjutant

🇺🇸 FLAG ETIQUETTE FRIDAY: When Should the Flag Be Flown at Half-Staff?

Flying the American flag at half-staff is a solemn sign of respect, mourning, and remembrance.

The flag is flown at half-staff on certain national days of remembrance and when ordered by the President of the United States or, in appropriate circumstances, a state’s governor.

As September 11 approaches, may we remember those who were lost, honor those who responded, and ensure that future generations understand the significance of this day. ❤️🤍💙

Respect the flag. Honor its meaning. Remember those it represents.

🇺🇸 FLAG ETIQUETTE FRIDAY 🇺🇸

Did you know there’s a proper way to raise the American flag to half-staff?

When the flag is displayed at half-staff, it should first be raised briskly to the top of the flagpole and then lowered to the half-staff position.

Before the flag is lowered for the day, it should once again be raised to the top of the pole before being lowered completely.

Flying the flag at half-staff is a sign of respect and mourning and is done on designated remembrance days or by official proclamation.

❤️🤍💙 Respect the flag. Honor its meaning. Know the traditions.
