Our scouts had a great time at the meeting tonight! Part of our mission is to work on team building. They tried this a few times and each time they got faster by a few seconds 🙌🏼

If your child is interested in joining the scouts they can attend tonight’s meeting! We are going to do some science work including Bernoullis principle science of flight and what makes our derby cards go!

This scouts mom captured him learning how to fold the US Flag 🇺🇸

“Folding and storing the flag is an important part of flag etiquette. After it has been lowered, the flag should be folded properly to ensure it is handled with respect and care. The folding process involves a series of precise folds that result in a triangular shape, symbolizing the hat worn by Revolutionary War soldiers.

Once folded, the flag should be stored in a clean and dry place, preferably in a flag case or display box. This helps to protect the flag from damage and preserve its integrity. Properly folding and storing the flag ensures that it can be proudly displayed for years to come.”

The Pinewood Derby is coming up in April!

The goal of the Pinewood Derby like many Scouting activities is FUN with a purpose. We intend for our Cub Scouts to have fun, learn sportsmanship, feel a sense of accomplishment, and experience the thrill of competition.

If you’re interested in your child(ren) joining the scouts and participating in this year’s Pinewood Derby our next meeting is Monday, March 11th at 7:00 in the Pavilion. Derby kits will be distributed one month prior to the event, tentatively planned for the end of April.

Tonight our Cub Scout group worked on fire starters!

Building a fire is an essential outdoor skill. Having fire in an emergency situation can be used for purifying water, enhancing a shelter, cooking food, staving off the effects of hypothermia, and so much more.

If you are interested in having your child (grades Kindergarten-5th) join us we meet at 7:00 on Monday nights at the Pavilion in Hoagland. Meetings last one hour and consist of fun games, team building activities & a scout lesson! Parents are welcome to stay as well.
