A beautiful friendship rooted in loving-kindness. At the sacred grounds of Kotte Rajamahavihara in Srilanka, the special bond between Bhante Neluwe Nagitha and the beloved Kotte Raja continues to touch the hearts of many.

Though Raja is majestic in size, he responds with remarkable gentleness in Bhante Nagitha’s presence. Their connection is built not on commands, but on trust, respect, and metta—loving-kindness that transcends words.

One of the most touching aspects of their friendship is that Raja allows only Bhante Nagitha to embrace his tusks in this way—a rare expression of trust that reflects the deep bond they share.

Moments like these remind us that compassion has no boundaries. When we approach all beings with a pure heart, friendship naturally follows.

Bhante Nagitha will be sharing these same blessings of loving-kindness with pets and their families on Saturday, June 20 at 4:00 PM at the Loving Kindness Meditation Center, 301 W. Butler Street, Bryan, Ohio. All pets and animal lovers are warmly welcome.

May this beautiful connection inspire us to treat every living being with kindness, understanding, and respect.
