Update from the Sault Trailblazers
As many of you may have heard, the OFSC recently released a vague statement about trail closures across the province. Unfortunately, our district was not immune to these changes.
The OFSC approached us with a request to reduce a significant number of trail kilometers. We worked hard to minimize the impact, offering as few kilometers as possible, but when our initial proposal didn’t meet their requirements, they asked for more.
As a result, we regret to inform you that the Sault Trailblazers will be losing D201F for the upcoming season, as well as (from what we understand) the trail leading to Boots and Saddles. This is especially difficult for us the trial to boots is one of the original trails our club established—it’s a tough loss to accept.
The decision to give up D201F was not made lightly. It was done in an effort to protect the smaller clubs in our district from folding entirely. We’re all in this together, and sacrifices had to be made to preserve the overall trail network.
You’ll see similar announcements from other clubs in the district, and we encourage you to read their messages as well.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support. Trail permits go on sale soon—please buy one and help keep the sport alive in our area.

❄️ La Niña Winter Pattern Ahead? ❄️
Remember February 2021 and the extreme cold and winter weather that gripped Texas and parts of the South?! 🥶 That was La Nina. Could we see a repeat this year? Only time will tell…

This map shows the typical La Niña pattern:
🔹 More snow for the northern U.S. and Great Lakes
🔹 Drier and less snow for parts of the Southwest
🔹 Big “wild card” zone across the Central U.S. where outcomes are harder to pin down

👉 But here’s the catch: Even if you’re not in the blue, you could still see your share of winter weather under the right conditions! One strong Arctic outbreak can change everything fast. Especially, if we trend towards a Neutral Enso by mid Winter as most long range models are saying.

Stay tuned as we track the setup for Winter 2025–26… it could get interesting! 🌨️

JUST RELEASED - the 2025-2026 Snow Forecast. Expect the season to be epic ... (and no, this is not the exact same map that has been posted the last 10 years ... this one is slightly different .. the snow prediction for Florida and parts of southern Arizona are a bit less than in previous years due to climate change ... lmfao)
