There are 35 Therapeutic Gymnastics programs in the USA that help those suffering form diseases and aliments that limit their mobility, and also subject them to a life with out health and wellness. With all of these programs around there is an even greater needs for a program that helps children in the inner-city suffering from their generational situation. k of physically activity, which leads to obesity, delinquency which leads to prison, lack of education, which leads to truancy and no future, and bad eating habits which leads to poor health and wellness. The numbers are rising more more every month of the children that are making these poor life decisions; the number of children that are obese is now 31.7% says the Journal of American Medical Association, the number of children in juvenile halls is 73,617,000 according to a national report called Juvenile Offenders and Victims. There is one therapeutic gymnastics program that exist for just such a need it is called the F.L.I.P.S program. The F.L.I.P.S gymnastics program, started as a dream within the heart and mind of social worker student who had a love for gymnastics. The F.L.I.P.S program seeks to not only introduce less fortunate children to sport acrobatics and gymnastics, but to also impact their lives through positive interaction with others, and to teach them health, wellness, total body fitness, healthy relationships, and overall success in life.
