The last Membership meeting of the year is Saturday November 16 from 11-12. NOTE that it is being held at the Hiram Arts Center - which is heated! This is a very important meeting at which HHS Board Members and Trustees are elected.

The slate of officers includes:

President - Liz Donald. Liz is presently Secretary. She was elected a new Board Member last year.

Also running is Kit Linnell, for the office of Secretary. Kit is presently serving as Treasurer and seeks to switch with Liz. We are happy to be able to accommodate this realignment of skills and interests.

Darby Crowley is an artist who has redesigned a significant part of the stairwell display Log Drives on the S**o and Ossipee Rivers - you may have admired her rendition of tree rings that serves as the backdrop of photo images. She hopes to be elected as a Member at Large of the HHS Board.

Ellie Stein, presently serving as President, hopes to be elected as a Trustee.

There are no trustees whose terms have ended. Trustees whose terms are current are Bill Johnson Sr.and wife Marilyn, Ken Kimball, Sue Moulton, Bruce Nason, and Sylvia Pease.

We need a quorum to authorize a vote - please come - there will be refreshments!

Not all of you are HHS members - we wish you were! - you can join, receive the Newsletter and vote for as little as $10 - a bargain and it will help keep the great programs coming!

HHS Board meets from 9:30-11 at the Hiram Arts Center. See you there.

Our July program takes place this Saturday at 1:30pm, we hope to see you all there!

Brilliant storyteller Jo Radner brings "Wit and Wisdom" to Hiram Historical Society this weekend. Her new book brings out a forgotten New England tradition of gathering to display knowledge, opinion and humor – what rural folks of all ages did for entertainment on cold winter Saturday nights before Tik Tok.
