The chorus frogs are back and singing as Hillview Recreation Park wakes up for spring. Chorus frog calls are described as sounding like running your finger along a fine-toothed comb. They are usually one of the first frogs to start calling in the spring.

~ Grinnell and Plymouth Bald Eagles on to strength training ~

Grinnell, a hatch-year 2024 Bald Eagle, (admitted early February 2026) and Plymouth (admitted towards the end of February 2026) have been moved to the 100 ft flight pen to continue their rehabilitation. It's time for both these eagles to gain flight stamina.

Grinnell had very elevated lead levels and received chelation treatment to remove the lead from their system. Learn more about rehabilitating birds with lead exposure: https://soarraptors.org/rehab-release/
