The Hinsdale Scouts are taking orders for Krispy Kreme doughnuts $15 a dozen payment in advanace is appreciated. Personal Mesage us here with your order if you can't catch one of our Scouts and we can arrange payment in person or by Venmo. Orders will be in May 16th. We are raising money for our trip to the National Scout Jamboree in West Virginia the end of July. We will also be spending 2 days in Gettysburg PA on the way down and a day each in Philadelphia and Valley Forge PA on the way back. Thank You in advance for your support.

It is with a heavy heart that Troop 496 announces the passing this afternoon of our Patriarch Robert Perkins. Bob was 91, and enjoyed 65+ years of scouting. Many of Hinsdale's youth and adults owe a great debt to him for his tutelage and guidance. He served as an Assistant Scoutmaster with Troop 307 before helping form Troop 496 in 1972 where he served as Assistant Scoutmaster for 11 years before taking over as Scoutmaster, a position he held for 15 years along side his wife Wilma as Committee Chair, before stepping back into the role of Assistant Scoutmaster for the past 25 years. Over his years of Scouting, Bob guided 14 scouts to the rank of Eagle Scout and created many memories and experiences for Hinsdale's youth in community service, camping, skill building, and youth leadership. The posted photo is one of the last memories our leaders and scouts shared with him on our 2023 summer trip to the National Scout Jamboree in New Hope, WV. You will forever remain in our hearts and prayers.

For 11 days in July, the five boys took a road trip to visit a Civil War site, a coal mine, the Baseball Hall of Fame, and an amusement park with multiple roller coasters.

Reminder to everyone: Concerts start tonight!! Come on out for live music and support the Lions Club that has chartered our Troop for 50 years... Also come support the Scouts by buying hamburgers, hotdogs, drinks, and chips. Help the Scouts reach the "Summit".
Part of our 50th Anniversary goal is to raise at minimum $3,000 to reach the 2023 National Scout Jamboree at the Summit Scout Reserve in West Virginia. THANK YOU

Bob Perkins was recognized tonight at the Mt Monadnock District Boy Scouts award dinner with the Founders uniform strip, Founding Members Award, and Troop 496 50th Anniversary Charter for being a founding member of Troop 496 Hinsdale, NH.
