South Shore Model Railway Club

The South Shore Model Railway Club is an HO scale club, conforming to National Model Railway Association standards.

Founded in 1938 in Quincy, Massachusetts, and has been in continuous operation ever since. The club's extensive rail network is the result of many individuals , with many talents, working together for many years. The club is now in its seventh decade of continuous operations.

We're trying something new this year. Since it's a long time between shows, we're having an Open House called "End of School Model Railroad Open House" next month for three hours. It's free and should be a fun time to just run trains, without any other diversions. Come and enjoy the trains in air-conditioned luxury! 😊🚂 (Thanks to David Galbraith for this, what I hope will be, great idea.)

We lost one of our Life Members last week, with the passing of a favorite member, Al Munn. He had been a member for over 50 years and was our Trackwork Chairman in building our giant model railroad into what it is today. He will be sorely missed for his friendship, talents and personality that made us all laugh! May he rest in peace. 🙏🚂

Our big March Show and Open House is just weeks away! Plan on visiting us on March 7th and 8th and see the progress we've made over the past several months. Our popular White Elephant Table will be in full swing, too, along with several dealers and a visiting N-scale layout!😊🚂

Our next open house is coming up: Friday, January 16th. Just trains running; no dealers, no White Elephant Tables...a relaxing time to watch multiple trains running on our massive HO-scale model railroad. Come see us between 4:30 and 7:30 p.m.
