OH Happy Day It’s Cabaret!
Yes it’s true! Hingham Community Center’s popular fundraiser is returning in January 2020 after a five year hiatus.
Cabaret, also called Hingham’s winter picnic, will be held on January 30, 31 and Feb 1, 2020 at the Hingham Armory on Central Street in Hingham. Plan your snacks, gather your friends and BYOB. Tables of ten are available.
‘Established in 1962, Cabaret raises money for the historic Ensign John Thaxter House built in 1718. Now used as a Community Center for family events, classes and local functions the Center is privately funded and requires the generosity of local residents to allow the building to remain a historic fixture in Hingham Square.
Love to sing or dance and want to be in the show? All are welcome. No tryouts are required if you want to be in the chorus or dance numbers just come on down. Auditions are required if you would like to try for one of our solos, duets trios etc. If you would like to tryout to sing beyond the chorus those tryouts will be held at our opening party on Jan 1, 2020 at the HIngham Community Center, 70 South St. Hingham at 2:00pm, opening party starts at 1:00pm. Don’t want to sing or dance we have tons of other fun stuff to do! Costumes, sets, make-up always can use a helping hand. Must be 18 years old to participate. Come join the party on Jan 1st and get all the details of the show.
Patron Tickets go on sale January 9th at 7:00 am until noon and from 7:00 pm to 8:30. Patron tickets are also available Friday January 10th from 9:00 am to noon and Friday evening at 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Public sales begin Monday January 13th at the Community Center at 9:00 am to noon and Monday night from 7:00 to 8:30.
Patron tickets allow you first choice at seating. Ticket prices are $20.00 for senior citizens (Thursday night only) and $25.00 for general admission. The Thursday night show is at 7:00 pm with the doors of the Armory opening at 6:00. The patron fee is $30.00 per table in addition to the ticket price.
Curtain time for Friday and Saturday night’s production is at 8:00 pm, doors to the Armory open at 6:30. Ticket price is $30.00 per ticket. Remember to purchase your raffle ticket! Everyone can use $1000.00 to payoff those Christmas bills!
