Two years ago 2 geese came by and had had geeselings here. Last year we we got stuck outside the country bc of the pandemic, but we're back now and so are the geese - are they the same ones from 2 years ago? Their kids? Somebody else entirely?

Any goose experts care to weigh in?

Wabi originally referred to the loneliness of living in nature, remote from society; sabi meant "chill", "lean" or "withered".

Around the 14th century these meanings began to change, taking on more positive connotations.

Wabi now connotes rustic simplicity, freshness or quietness, and can be applied to both natural and human-made objects, or understated elegance.

It can also refer to quirks and anomalies arising from the process of construction, which add uniqueness and elegance to the object.

Sabi is beauty or serenity that comes with age, when the life of the object and its impermanence are evidenced in its patina and wear, or in any visible repairs.

In traditional Japanese aesthetics, wabi-sabi (侘寂) is a world view centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection.[2] The aesthetic is sometimes described as one of beauty that is "imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete".[3] It is a concept derived from the Buddhist teaching of the th...

Sad & horrible news. ,

Seth, our good friend who's been with us since the beginning, coming every summer for the past 6 years to make our ship more wonderful, teaching dozens of of the earthship-curious tons of amazing techniques,

Seth, pounder of tires, maker of jokes, drinker of double IPAs

Seth has been diagnosed with cancer.

He undergoing chemo and radiation, which means long trips and overnight stays in Albuquerque. To help, friends have set up a GoFundMe (below)

If you've had any connection with Seth, it's sure to have been positive; please consider helping out. Or even if you've just followed along.
