Iroquois Snow Beavers ISB

Iroquois Snow Beavers ISB The Iroquois Snow Beavers are a local club within the Chittenden County Snowmobile Trails Association of the Vermont Association of Snow Travelers (VAST).

As a local club, we maintain the trails and infrastructure between Hinesburg and Huntington Vermont. We work with the landowners to ensure access to trails, maintain bridges, culverts, and other infrastructure items along the trail, as well as maintaining the trails to allow for safe passage of snow travelers.

Huntington trailmaster went out last night and reports several bare spots in town. Trail is closed from Trapp Road parking towards Hinesburg. Mountain trails are still holding up.

Hey everyone, at the request of one of our landowners we need to close the trail from CN5 to Lincoln Hill. The sun and warmup has taken its toll in the valley especially on south facing slopes. Please see the VAST map and respect landowners decision and property. Thank you!

Currently almost 50 degrees with a strong sun means we are currently keeping our eyes on trail conditions. Our trail between Lincoln Hill and Trapp Road is rapidly deteriorating. Mountain riding is still decent. Best bet is to park at the Huntington Community Forest lot and head towards the State Forest. We will be updating our map as conditions warrant. The forecast for next week is pretty dire. Get out and ride while you can!

All of our trails are freshly groomed today. Due to warmer weather this weekend there won’t be more grooming till early next week.
Someone drove a wheeled vehicle on the VAST trail in Hinesburg from the Jiffy to the Patrick Brook bridge by the ball field. It will take more than one grooming to completely smooth out the ruts which were left in the trail. This is the kind of thing that causes trails to get shut down. Anyone having information about this incident is encouraged to reach out to the club.

Please note that there will be an excavator working on a landowners property off Lincoln Hill Road right where we enter/exit onto the road. This is between the road crossing and the old firing range. Please use caution and be on the lookout. Thanks!

Met the Mad River Ridge Runners on their Reggie Orr memorial ride at the top of the gap. Couldn’t ask for better!

Past President Erik Engstrom and past VAST junior snowmobiler of the year Ethan Engstrom took the opportunity to make some needed signing improvements in Hinesburg today. Ethan just passed his snowmobile safety course and what better way to get out and ride than to help make the trails better for everyone? Hope you all had a great weekend out there, enjoying the trails we all work so hard to maintain. Thanks to our landowners and volunteers that make it happen.

This is a reminder that there are 0 places on our trail where it is okay to ride outside the staked trail. We know many of the repeat offenders and if we get a description and it matches your sled, or registration number, expect a visit from the sheriff and an opportunity to make a sizable donation to the club. Thanks to those that understand this. Stay vigilant out there and be sure to report anybody that isn’t doing the right thing. It protects riding for everyone. 👍
