We are SO proud of this group!

Our Culture of Recovery program participants, led by our Master Ceramicist in Residence Richard Kirk Banks (left), have worked so hard over the last 6 months to create this beautiful ceramic mosaic titled "Troubled Waters". The piece is now displayed permanently in our local coffee/bookstore, The Wandering Willow Book Cafe. We're so grateful for our friends there who support the work we are doing!

"This mosaic is made up of many individual pieces, which represents how recovery is often built one step, one choice, and one day at a time. Just as each piece contributes to the overall image, every effort, support system, and milestone contributes to a person’s recovery journey.

This artwork serves as a reminder that while the journey through addiction can be difficult, there is hope beyond the struggle. The sunlight and blue skies show that recovery is possible and that brighter days can be found on the other side of the storm."

We had such an amazing event celebrating Appalachian women during our Appalachian Beautiful Photo Gallery Exhibit opening last weekend.

If you missed coming to the opening, the exhibit will be open during AAC business hours until July 2nd.

Thank you Malcolm J. Wilson for allowing us to host this exhibit for you!

"Can I actually make a tomahawk in one day?" 🤔

Yes, you can—if your teacher is Dan Estep.

We’ve had a lot of questions about the upcoming workshop on Wednesday, June 17, so here is the quick breakdown:

👉 Do I need experience? Nope. Dan walks you through every hammer blow.
👉 What do I get? You forge and finish your very own custom tomahawk, modeled after the beautiful design.
👉 Where is it? 63 Education Ln, Hindman, KY.
👉 Why is it so limited? We only have 4 spots total so that every single participant gets a dedicated forge and plenty of personal instruction.
