🚨 URGENT PRAYER REQUEST

An Ebola outbreak in the DRC and Uganda has prompted the Rwandan government to close its borders with the DRC — including at Goma, where our Project Hope 127 orphanages are located.

This closure cuts off food and essential supplies to the city, threatening steep price increases and shortages for an already vulnerable population.

This is Ahadi. She's 10 years old, born in Sake, DRC — and her story is one of resilience. 💛

Ahadi lost her mother as an infant and her father to violence before she was even old enough to understand. Her life has held more hardship than a child should know. Through it all, she kept going — learning, playing, and growing. Ahadi now enjoys school and playing soccer with friends.

We are celebrating the opening of our newly constructed classrooms dedicated to serving children with special needs in Uganda. We look forward to expanding this ministry - with additional teachers and staff - so that we can serve even more children. Thank you for your support!

In January 2025, as fighting between armed forces and M23 rebels tore through Goma, four siblings — Gloria (13), Blessing (12), Solomon (10), and Paradis (5) — lost both parents when shrapnel struck their home. Neighbors rescued them, but for days the children moved from house to house, barely speaking. Gloria refused to cry in front of her siblings. Solomon kept asking when their mother would return. Paradis clung to her sister's clothes.

Through the care of a local pastor and our team at Free Life Children's Home, they found a place to heal. It hasn't been easy — but slowly, they are adapting. Robert and Happiness, who oversee our children's homes in DR Congo, sometimes take turns sleeping at the orphanage just to help them feel safe.

Today on International Women’s Day, we celebrate the girls who are growing, learning, and discovering who God created them to be.

Through Project Hope 127, girls in our children’s homes are given the opportunity to attend school, dream about their future, and grow up surrounded by love and encouragement.

They are tomorrow’s leaders, mothers, teachers, and world-changers—and we are grateful to walk alongside them. 💜

Thanks to gifts through our Gifts That Matter campaign, a load of firewood for cooking has been delivered to our children's home in DRC. Because of our donors' generosity, warm meals - and the happy chatter of mealtime - will continue to fill the home!
