Atrial fibrillation (AFib) is the most common arrhythmia worldwide, which is linked to heart failure, so they often coexist. A diagnosis of either condition can promote the development of the other, but please note that just because you have been diagnosed with either AF or heart failure, it does not necessarily mean that you will develop the other condition.

Whether you are heading off on a ski trip, trekking holiday or mountain adventure, you may have wondered how traveling to high altitude could affect your heart rhythm.

There is currently limited real-world evidence about arrhythmias and travel above 2,500m. Researchers want to change that by learning from people who have experienced, or are planning, high-altitude travel.

Your experience could help build the evidence needed to support future patients.

You may be eligible to take part if you:

If you are planning to ski, trek, climb or exercise above 2,500m, researchers want to hear from you.

There is currently limited real-world evidence about how arrhythmias may be affected by high altitude. A new international registry is working to change this by collecting experiences from people with heart conditions who travel to altitude.
