For those of you that haven’t heard, Coach E’s wife passed unexpectedly on December 27th. Coach E is one of the founders of Hilton Head Island Crew and an integral part of the organization for many years. The Celebration of Life is Wednesday January 10 at noon.

Southeast regionals at Sarasota. Congrats to these kids for to going to regionals. First time for this team. Kellen was 8th in semis, Kwesi/Charlie missed semis by 3 seconds, Ava/Reily 7th in semis, but beat Sarasota A boat by 1 second; Baby Jack was 5th in his semi heat. Now that they’ve rowed here once time to do better next year. Great job guys!! Way to end the season.📸ekibec;mhumrickhouse; slinkimer

A little late, overall we had a very successful race at Dogwood. Jack L. with a 3rd place medal, Max/Charlie 1 at in their semi heat/ 6 in finals, Kellen 6th in finals, Quad 8th overall in final Ava/Reily 5 in final Zella/Ruby 5th in their semi final; Miran was 4in her semi final. First time we’ve had that many rowers not only go but be successful.📸Jweitekamper

Great first day at Dogwood!! Men’s quad, Kellen, and Jack L are all into the Grand finals!! Ava/Reily; the men’s quads are racing semi-finals today to see if they make it into the grand finals. Marin was a few seconds out of qualifying for the grand finals. Can’t wait to see what happens today. Great job HHI Crew!!

For anyone interested in learning to row go to The Island Rec Center website and there are three different sessions still available May 22/23; June 19/20, and June 26/27. It’s from 9-12 both days. This is for middle/ high schoolers that are interested in rowing. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out.

Thanks to everyone who came out tonight for the End of Season banquet. Perfect night to conclude our season and honor our seniors: Kelsey; Rex; Matthew; Andrew; Ariella; and Jackie. Congrats and good luck in the future. Thanks to all our coaches and board members for all their hard work all season long.
