Join Second Helpings and Venture Church in Ridgeland for free fresh produce! On Saturday June 6, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm, the great volunteers at Venture Church will join Second Helpings, in partnership with Lowcountry Food Bank to give away free fresh produce! The location is 3775 Argent Boulevard in Ridgeland.

This past weekend kicked off the summer season here in the Lowcountry and with it comes a simple way to give back.

Whether you're visiting Hilton Head Island or call it home, unopened, nonperishable food can help feed local neighbors right here in our community.

Before heading home, or while cleaning out your pantry, donate unopened food in a Second Helpings donation bin located across Hilton Head Island.

Many of the people facing food insecurity are the same people who help make this island welcoming, beautiful, and memorable.

It’s World Hunger Day and Second Helpings volunteers are out rescuing food to feed those in need. Hunger has a local address in Beaufort, Jasper and Hampton counties. Second Helpings is the only food rescue nonprofit serving these communities. Join our efforts at www.secondhelpingslc.org.

Thank You Friends at Fish Casual Coastal Seafood for supporting our Post-Vacation Food Donation program and all the many ways you help us feed the hungry! Look for the food donation bins at Fish and other partners on HHI: https://www.secondhelpingslc.org/tourist_food_rescue

We are a collection spot for Second Helpings "Post-Vacation Food Donation" program! Tourists and locals can drop off unopened, nonperishable groceries at any time. Don't waste all of those leftover groceries once your vacation is over! They will be redistributed to the area's food pantries.

Remember and honor: on Memorial Day the Second Helpings office will be closed but volunteers will be out rescuing food. We remember and honor all who have served our country. Hunger never takes a holiday so thank you volunteers for giving up your holiday to help others. ❤️🤍💙🇺🇸

Help Us Raise $100,000 by July 4! Truck number 7 has reached the end of the road and must be replaced. Second Helpings is trying to raise $100,000 in the next few weeks to buy a new truck for food rescue. Your gift will power our work for the next decade. Free Produce Coming Up Monday and Tuesday May 18 and 19! Fresh Xpress free produce distribution is coming up next week so mark your calendar! Monday May 18 it’s at The Church of the Cross Food Bank, 15 Centre Drive in Bluffton. Times are 12 noon to 2:00 pm and 4:30-6:00 pm. On Tuesday May 19, it’s from 11:00 am to 12 noon at St Andrew By-The-Sea UMC Soup Kitchen, 20 Pope Avenue, Hilton Head. Please bring your own bags. Thanks to these organizations and the Lowcountry Food Bank for your partnership!

Thank you National Association of Letter Carriers for Stamp Out Hunger! It was the second year in a row for a soggy Stamp Out Hunger on Hilton Head. Thank you to the mail carriers and our volunteers who helped unload and reload food. All donations go to local food pantries and soup kitchens!
