Hilton Head Island Safe Harbour was awarded a grant from the Italian-American Club of Hilton Head at their weekly luncheon yesterday. This group holds several events throughout the year to raise money and then donates all the money to local non-profits.

Hilton Head Island Safe Harbour assists residents of the island who wish to stay in their own homes as they age. We support them by providing transportation to medical appointments, pharmacies, grocery stores, etc. Our services are provided by volunteers; the volunteers select the assignment they are available for weekly. Assignments are 1 to 1.5 hours long. Some of our volunteers have developed lasting relationships with the members, and take the same member as often as possible.
If you have time available, this is a great volunteer opportunity. You select the time and the day you volunteer every week!
