Memory Matters

Memory Matters Memory Matters chooses to be kind in all we do in our memory care day program. Volunteers make this possible and are the heart of ALL we do at Memory Matters.

Memory Matters is a non-profit organization that provides day programs, in-person and virtually, for people with memory loss, supports caregivers, and educates the community with optimizing brain wellness. Providing caregivers with a break (a/k/a respite), we offer people with mild to moderate cognitive impairment classes filled with music, art, exercise, brain relaxation, a healthy meal, companio

nship, and laughter. Our non-profit organization has been in existence since 1998 in the Hilton Head and Bluffton areas. What began in churches to give caregivers a break, we've expanded to providing classes to the community in optimizing brain wellness. Today we continue to give those suffering from Alzheimer's disease and dementia programs to slow the progression of the disease, give caregivers individual and group support, and educate everyone on the importance of keeping your brain and mind healthy. THANK YOU, donors, for helping us provide these services to all who need them. Memories Matter and we are creating them one moment at a time. Street Address: 117 William Hilton Parkway, HHI, SC 29926

🍄 Brain Healthy Kitchen: Mushroom Freekeh with Truffle Oil

Some dishes earn their place on the plate twice, once for the flavor, once for what they do for your brain.

Freekeh is young green wheat, harvested early and fire-roasted. It’s a whole grain with more fiber and protein than most, and it digests slowly, steady energy, no crash. Mushrooms bring ergothioneine, an antioxidant that’s drawn real attention in cognitive aging research. And that drizzle of truffle oil is the Mediterranean Lifestyle at work: a healthy fat doing the job salt usually gets asked to do.

It comes together in about 30 minutes and reheats beautifully, which matters when you’re caring for someone and dinner needs to be simple.

Nutrition is one of the brain-healthy habits we build into every day at Memory Matters. Feeding someone well is care.

Thank you, Fallon Williams💙

A heartfelt thank-you to Moss Creek Golf Club for hosting the 2026 Fallon Williams Golf Tournament and helping make such a wonderful day possible!

We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be part of this special event and for the generosity and support shown to Memory Matters and the Reverend Isaac W. Wilborn Jr Scholarship Fund. Events like this not only bring our community together through a shared love of golf, but also create meaningful opportunities to support our mission of helping families affected by dementia.

Thank you to everyone who played, volunteered, sponsored, donated, and cheered us on! Your support truly makes a difference. 💙

We look forward to seeing you on the course again next year!
