Memory Matters

Memory Matters Memory Matters chooses to be kind in all we do in our memory care day program. Volunteers make this possible and are the heart of ALL we do at Memory Matters.

Memory Matters is a non-profit organization that provides day programs, in-person and virtually, for people with memory loss, supports caregivers, and educates the community with optimizing brain wellness. Providing caregivers with a break (a/k/a respite), we offer people with mild to moderate cognitive impairment classes filled with music, art, exercise, brain relaxation, a healthy meal, companio

nship, and laughter. Our non-profit organization has been in existence since 1998 in the Hilton Head and Bluffton areas. What began in churches to give caregivers a break, we've expanded to providing classes to the community in optimizing brain wellness. Today we continue to give those suffering from Alzheimer's disease and dementia programs to slow the progression of the disease, give caregivers individual and group support, and educate everyone on the importance of keeping your brain and mind healthy. THANK YOU, donors, for helping us provide these services to all who need them. Memories Matter and we are creating them one moment at a time. Street Address: 117 William Hilton Parkway, HHI, SC 29926

Every caregiver needs a break. Let us help.
"I now get a break from daily caregiving, but most importantly I know that Mom is getting plenty of social interaction and entertainment at Memory Matters."
"Mom LOVES it! She says it gets her out of the house, with people and doing fun things! Mom is 88 years young and was struggling to make herself leave the house on her own."
These are the moments that remind us why we do this work, for caregivers and the ones they love.

Seats are still available for our June Speaker Series Event - sponsored by Dave Ekedahl

Dr. Esther Vivas, MD will present "Impact of Hearing Health on the Brain", an evidence-based look at the surprising connection between hearing and cognitive health. This is not a hearing aid sales event. It's a physician-led presentation designed to help caregivers and families understand how untreated hearing loss can affect memory, brain function, and quality of life, and what you can do about it.

You'll come away understanding:
β€’ How hearing loss accelerates cognitive decline
β€’ Why early awareness matters for the people you care for
β€’ What proactive steps actually make a difference

πŸ‘¨β€πŸ³ Behind every great lunch served in our Harmony CafΓ© at the Hilton Head Adult Social Day Program is Chef Mick Connors, cooking Monday through Friday with a Mediterranean-inspired menu, one of the 5 brain-healthy interventions we build into every day at Memory Matters.
Mick brings serious culinary chops to the table. He runs his own fine dining and catering business on the island, serving private events, in-home dinners, and cooking classes, and previously served as Executive Chef and Director of Food & Beverage for The Yacht Club of Hilton Head.
We're so grateful for the care (and flavor!) he brings to our program every single day.
Check him out:
