Hoʻoulu Lāhui is a non-profit organization (501-c3), formed in 1995, with the purpose of awakening Hawaiian culture, values, beliefs, and lifestyle in partnership with the community to achieve unity, harmony, and total well-being (lōkahi). The goals of Hoʻoulu Lāhui are: The restoration and management of Hawaiian culture sites; the development and operation of Hawaiian cultural education center (K

ua O Ka Lā New Century Public Charter School); the self-sufficiency of Hoʻoulu Lāhui through culturally appropriate economic development ventures; and collaboration with other agencies and organizations.

Site donated to Ho'oulu Lāhui by Malāma O Puna for the future ʻIke O Nānāwale native forest education center. We are thankful for all the support in the endeavor to see this project through.

The first stage of the project is to work on the eradication of the Albizia and other invasive species onsite in order to protect the native ʻōhia forest. Once the albizia stands are taken care of, the forest floor will need to be managed to prevent further regrowth of albizia shoots.
