Friends of Hillsville Inc.

Friends of Hillsville Inc. We're a group of volunteers who work to promote, preserve, and enhance Hillsville, Virginia. Main Street (Town Hall office). Meetings are open to the public.

We coordinate free, family-friendly events in town, provide annual scholarships to local seniors, and work diligently to make Hillsville a great place to live. The Friends of Hillsville, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) that supports the Town of Hillsville, its citizens and its businesses by creating and encouraging a vibrant and healthy community in which to live and work, to visit, and to learn. Our vision

is to unite an inspired community to promote the town of Hillsville and its economic prosperity. We strive to provide leadership by partnering with others in order to maximize resources for citizens of the Town of Hillsville. Contributions to the town include free, family-friendly events:

Shred-A-Thon sponsored by Carter Bank & Trust every April
Second Saturday Concerts May-September
Independence Day parade, celebration, and fireworks
Historic Hillsville Chili Shootout
Safe Halloween
Christmas parade

Other contributions include:

AED's for our local police department
Updated signage for businesses in town
Annual scholarships for local seniors
Hillsville's Inclusive Playground (currently under construction at the Carroll Wellness Center)

The Friends of Hillsville meet the first Tuesday of every month at 6:00 p.m., 410 N.

🎸 Gearshot takes the stage at **5:00 PM**, bringing the greatest hits and energy from the glory days of rock and roll.
⛵ Black Pearl Band hits the main stage at **7:00 PM** to yacht rock the night away with all your favorite smooth sailing classics!

The Carroll County Public Schools Summer Reading Program will be set up near the bouncy houses giving away FREE books while supplies last! What could be better than encouraging young readers while enjoying an incredible community event?

To clarify plans for the July 4th Celebration:

Admission to all July 4th activities remains completely free, and parking will also be free for attendees.

The Town is working with a local nonprofit organization to assist with parking operations and traffic management to help ensure a safe and enjoyable event for everyone. The nonprofit’s services will be compensated directly by the Town.

We appreciate everyone’s support as we continue working to improve safety and traffic flow for our growing celebration.

A word from Tri-Area: “We are a non-profit healthcare organization covering Carroll, Floyd, Franklin, Grayson and Patrick Counties, as well as the City of Galax. We have school-based clinics in Carroll and Grayson County and Galax City Public Schools, and coming in the Fall of 2026 to Floyd and Patrick County schools. Services include medical and behavioral health, medication assistance, three pharmacies, transportation and sliding scale fees for patients without insurance."
