So we have another update/ask. Friday afternoon another sweet pup was found in a Galax Trailer Park……she is Nala’s sister. A little skinnier but so sweet. Shelter closed and Animal Control off til Tuesday, we asked Nala’s foster if she could hold onto “Delilah” til we make a decision on how to help. Of course, she said yes. But this has involved a vet visit Saturday afternoon…..a little cough and covered in fleas/ticks we need to get her to feeling better. IF anyone can help with the costs, please call Carroll Vet Tuesday - even a little will help. We are trying to find a rescue/adopter for these girls.

We also know who dumped them…..not local residents and hoping charges will be made. But for now they need a home 💗 🐾

It’s “Feel Good Friday” and we are so excited that sweet girl, Livvy, is feeling better every day! Two weeks ago, Livvy showed up at a kind person’s home and begged at the window for help. She was emaciated, had large wounds in her belly area, and was covered in maggots and ticks. She was taken to our wonderful friends at Galax Veterinary Clinic where the vet believed she had been attacked by a larger animal, got away, and then was attacked again by maggots and ticks. She was starving and in pain but was loving and sweet the entire time she was being treated. She went under anesthesia for care because her wounds were so extensive. Livvy is an adult cat and weighed 3 lbs when she was found. Fast forward to today and she now weighs almost 6 lbs, her wounds are slowly healing and she knows what it feels like to sleep in a soft, clean bed. Livvy still has a long road to recovery. She cannot receive her basic rabies and distemper vaccines until her body is stronger and she will need to be spayed. This sweet girl purrs while her wounds are being cleaned and even when she has to take her icky antibiotics she is always sweet. Who can resist a beauty like this with missing ears? A little update about a pup that was spotted being dumped in a local trailer park 😞

We have found a foster for her…….she has made a visit to Galax Vet for an evaluation and vaccinations (waiting on results)……she is on a required 5 day stray hold (that’s the law), she is getting good food/water/love and some puppy training 😉……and we are searching for the best rescue/home possible for her. She is around 4-5 months old and weighs 20 lbs. Totally covered in fleas/ticks and so scared but has come out of her shell and just wants love and attention which she is now getting. HOW CAN SOMEONE DO THIS? We just don’t know……but we will do whatever it takes to ensure she has the best future ever 💗 🐾

Her foster has named her Nala……any help with her vet bills can be made directly to Galax Veterinary Clinic 😊 under Nala/Twin County Humane Society.

We will try to locate the person responsible for dumping this sweet pup……this has to stop!

It’s the MOST WONDERFUL TIME of the year!!! Yep, our good friends with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals are headed back to Galax for another round of free spay and neuter for local pets.

Don’t wait until it’s too late!

Some restrictions apply. The bus is unable to accommodate dogs that weigh more than 60 lbs, and breeds with short noses, like bulldogs and pugs. They also can’t accommodate animals with health issues or certain breeds that are prone to clotting disorders, like Dobermans and Rottweilers. Dogs and cats should be no older than 5 years or younger than 3 months. See application for additional details.

First come, first served. The PETA clinic scheduler will reach out to you if they are able to fit your pet on the clinic.

Do we rest? NOOOO!!!😹🐶😹 Close on the heels of our most recent feral cat TNR clinic, TCHS volunteers hit the road for a double transport today!

The always awesome Cori and Don Hill, with an assist from life-saver Sonja Mabe with Tri-State Animal Rescue helped get 7 sweet kittens from foster homes on to our fabulous rescue partners at Operation Paws for Homes. And at the crack of dawn, our amazing board member and everything volunteer Nancy Taylor, hopped on the road to Richmond to deliver 5 pups who really needed a second chance to the Richmond SPCA. Not sure if Nancy ever gets a chance to sleep!

Thanks to all of the volunteers, drivers, and fosters who make these things happens. We couldn’t do without you guys❤
