HOH Volunteer of the Month – April 💛

With deep respect and gratitude, we recognize Ms. Shweta Gautam.

A senior leader at Greaves Cotton Limited, she leads operations across India, yet remains deeply committed to giving back.
🌿 For years, she has been a steady supporter of the Koshish Project in New Delhi, which works to empower marginalized children and their mothers through education and skill development. HOH has proudly partnered with Koshish since 2009.
✨ What makes Shweta ji’s journey truly special is her consistency.

In a space where volunteer engagement can often fluctuate, she has remained a constant, visiting regularly, supporting fundraising efforts, and uplifting children with genuine care.

Her impact isn’t loud.
It’s steady.
It’s meaningful.
It lasts.

💛 This is what HOH stands for, not just volunteering, but long-term commitment and belief in the mission.

🙏 Thank you, Shweta ji, for being a quiet force of change

HOH Volunteer of the Month – April 💛

With deep gratitude, we are honored to recognize Ms. Uma Gopalkrishnan.

Uma Mam is a special educator with over 30 years of experience, serving with immense dedication at the Kushaagra Learning Centre under Project SHARAN – PEHL.

Her guiding belief is simple, yet powerful:
“Making sure no one is left behind.”

Through her work with children with special needs, she brings more than education, she brings dignity, confidence, and hope. Every child she works with is seen, valued, and nurtured with deep compassion.

🌿 HOH has been proudly partnered with Project SHARAN – PEHL since 2020- an organization supporting underprivileged and differently-abled children across Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh through education, vocational training, counselling, and medical care.

From disaster relief efforts during COVID, floods, and earthquakes to ongoing community support, their impact has touched thousands of lives.

Uma Mam’s seva is a beautiful reflection of this mission in action.

🙏 To our HOH family and partners, your support continues to create real, lasting change.

💛 Thank you, Uma Mam, for showing us what true compassion looks like

HOH Volunteer of the Month 💛

Some of the most powerful impact happens quietly.
Dr. Nidhika Taneja is a physician at Kaiser Permanente, but beyond her profession, she has been consistently showing up in a way that truly defines service.

Years ago, a simple introduction connected her to Manovikas, HOH’s long-standing partner supporting children with intellectual disabilities.

And since then… she never stopped.
Week after week, alongside her children, she has been tutoring, mentoring, and building meaningful connections with special children through the SMILE Project.
No spotlight.
No expectations.
Just love in action.

✨ What makes this even more special…
We recently realized she had quietly continued all along.
While programs evolve and grow, it is people like Dr. Nidhika who sustain their soul.
Through Manovikas and SMILE, thousands of lives have been transformed — not just through systems, but through human connection.

💛 This is the spirit of HOH
Where one small introduction… becomes lifelong impact

🙏 Thank you, Dr. Nidhika, for showing us that the deepest service is often the quietest

HOH Volunteer of the Month – April 💛

Pavithra’s journey is what HOH is all about.

She came to the Children’s Home of Hope at just six years old, a child in need of support and stability.

With HOH by her side, she completed her education and went on to build a life of independence and purpose.

Today, she runs her own physiotherapy clinic in Chennai.
✨ But what makes her story truly powerful… is that she comes back.
She now serves the elderly through physiotherapy
And mentors young girls, helping them build confidence, creativity, and belief in themselves.

Pavithra represents a full circle.
From receiving support…
To becoming someone who gives it.
This is the impact of HOH.

Not just changing lives, but creating a ripple effect that continues for generations.

💛 Thank you, Pavithra, for being the heart of this mission

💛 National Volunteer Week | April 19–25

Not all impact is loud.
Some of it is built quietly… over years… through consistency, commitment, and heart.

At Home of Hope, we often speak about programs, partnerships, and outcomes.
But behind every number… is someone who chose to show up.

This week, we honor one such individual, Mr. R. P. Singh.
A retired Group Captain from the Indian Air Force,he chose a life of continued service, dedicating over 25 years to Pingalwara and the education of hearing-impaired children in rural Punjab.

No title.
No spotlight.
Just purpose.

What began as a simple initiative has grown into a movement, reaching hundreds of children across multiple districts, creating access where none existed before.

And yet, the need is still great.
Because real change is not built in moments.

It is built over time, by people who stay.

💛 This is the spirit of HOH.
Quiet commitment. Lasting impact.

Some transformations don’t happen overnight.
They happen through years of belief, partnership, and courage.

For 26 years, Home of Hope has walked alongside women and girls as they rebuild their futures, through education, mentorship, healing, and opportunity.

They are lives in motion.
Women reclaiming dignity.
Girls discovering confidence.
Communities changing what the future looks like.

Behind every story is someone who believed it was possible, a mentor, a volunteer, a partner, a donor.

Because of that belief, courage grows.
Healing begins.
And opportunity becomes real.

Today, on International Women’s Day, we celebrate the women who continue to rise, and the community that stands beside them.

💛 None of this happens alone.

If this mission speaks to you, join us.

Support the work.
Share the story.
Help us continue transforming lives.

Serving with love, in memory and in hope.

This Sunday, November 9th, the Ashwin Bhavnani Cancer Foundation of Home of Hope joined hands with Free Meals on Wheels to sponsor over 470 warm meals for the homeless, in loving memory of Ashwin’s birthday on November 11th.

The meals were sponsored by Neelam Bhavnani, Board Member & Treasurer, Anil Bhavnani and the Bhavnani family and lovingly organized by our Board Member, Mrs. Sukhi Singh, along with incredible volunteers who came together to serve with compassion and purpose.

Every act of kindness leaves a ripple, and this one nourished hearts as much as it did bodies.

What a Night! The 2025 Home of Hope Gala

Thank you to everyone who joined us last night for an unforgettable evening of compassion, community, and celebration.

With your incredible support, we raised $620,000 to empower underserved youth through education, mentorship, and opportunity.
We were inspired by Dr. Sanjiv Chopra, Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, and Padma Bhushan Vinod Dham, whose words reminded us of the true meaning of service and investing in the next generation.
From breathtaking performances to moving stories of transformation, every moment reflected the heart of Home of Hope.

Stay tuned—we’ll be sharing photos and videos soon!

Thank you for being part of this journey and helping us turn hope into action.
