With the rally officially in the history books I wanted to raise a little awareness to an unspoken aspect of the event.

Let me start by saying that likely the majority of these items were not intentionally discarded. The drastic portion of this yield was accidental and consisted largely of small individual items accidentally discarded under a leaf, patch of grass, or against a tree. We would happily pick up ten fold this to see all the smiles, laughs, and hugs this event brings year after year.

Some may not know but the field that the MVMVC uses for this event is private property owned by a non club member, this is the only time this field is used for anything, thus there is no question what the origin of litter in the field is from. Once I lock the gate at the conclusion of the event it does not open again until I return in April when I check the status from old man winter's effects. For over 3 decades now the club has ensured we leave the field cleaner every year than when we arrive. A few of us will spend a couple hours Sunday walking through every vendor spot, every camp site, every square inch of the entirely of the property ensuring no piece of trash goes unnoticed. For an event this size its amazing to only be able to fill a small platter with the litter found, for that we all want to thank you. That being said please also do your dilligence to ensure you pack out everything you pack in.

If you recognize the cutting board or demo bar reach out to Lawrence Damour and I will happily get them back to you!

The Weare rally has been wonderful so far this year. Cant wait to see what tomorrow brings.
