The Friday Night Ceilidh is tomorrow!! This free community event is the kickoff for Outlandish weekend. In partnership with Last Fridays & the Art Walk, enjoy fiddle and dancing demonstrations on the courthouse lawn. Stop by the Hillsborough Visitors Center for vendors, crafts, and an Irn Bru tasting! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿✨ Outlandish Parking & Shuttle Info ✨🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Anyone who did not purchase a parking pass can get to Ayr Mount with our free and easy shuttle system! Park and ride at the Orange High School Parking Lot, or in downtown Hillsborough at Court Street. Shuttles run from 9am to 5:30pm between these stops and Ayr Mount, every 10-15 minutes.

Prepurchased a parking pass for Ayr Mount? Great! Print the pass that was sent to your email and put it in your dashboard. If you can’t print it, come to the Visitors Center during our Friday Night Ceilidh again and we will print it for free. *If you did not prepurchase a pass, you cannot park at Ayr Mount, as parking space is limited*

Outlandish Hillsborough is Saturday, September 26th! But don’t go home after the Saturday festivities - there is a ton of fun happening on Sunday as well. Here is your guide to enjoying the final day of Outlandish weekend:

☕️ Join Elizabeth Keckly Center at the Burwell School for a Bonnie Burwell Tea from 1-3pm. Tickets are limited, so be sure to sign up early!

🎶 Catch Jesse Fox at the Hillsborough Arts Council House Concert. Jesse is one of our favorites, so you won’t want to miss this show.

🌸 Visit Moorefields for a lovely and family friendly nature walk from 10:00-11:30am. Kids 12 and under are free with an adult ticket!

🎨 Looking for more to do this weekend? Visit our friends at The Scrap Exchange Reuse Arts Center + Thrift Store ! They will be running activities for children at the Outlandish festival, but you can also find them at their thrift location at 2050 Chapel Hill Road in Durham.

✨OUTLANDISH IS TWO WEEKS AWAY✨

The festival will take place at Ayr Mount starting at 10am! For those who did not prepurchase parking, you can park in the Orange High School parking lot or in downtown Hillsborough and hop on our FREE Outlandish shuttles to get up to Ayr Mount.

Outlandish will be a ton of fun, but there’s so much going on that day. Outlandish themed specials will be available at participating businesses through Sunday.

Saltire Gallerie will also have a special exhibit featuring real Claire and Jamie costumes from Outlander! This is only available on Saturday, so you do not want to miss out.

The Outlandish Scottish Festival is Saturday September 26th, but there will be fun all weekend long! Here is your checklist for our Friday kickoff, which is only TWO WEEKS AWAY!! ✨

✨Our Friday Night Ceilidh schedule and offerings have been updated!!!✨

Our Friday Night Ceilidh event is a FREE event celebrating the kickoff of Outlandish weekend! Thanks to our partnership with Hillsborough Arts Council , we are excited to announce that the music and dance offerings and workshops have expanded and will be on the courthouse lawn! There will still be lots happening at the Visitors Center, so be sure to check out both locations.

The Ceilidh event is FREE, family friendly, and open to the public. Come and join us on September 25th starting at 5:30pm!
