Hi All,

Here’s a new, special, limited edition award that can be earned by ALL registered Scouting America individuals from Lions all the way through and up to including adult leaders. I plan on doing this with my two scouts for sure, but if enough of us want to participate, we might be able to coordinate doing some of the requirements together as a Pack. This award can be earned up intil February 28th of 2027.

Howdy Pack 438!
Take a look at this; summer camp for cubs! If you are interested in attending please let me know. Also, just for those who aren’t familiar, if your scout attends this camp they will walk away having completed 9-10 or their next scouting year’s elective adventures! All within just three short days!

Camp Durant will also have an overnight Cub summer camp (July 19th-22nd); however, they have not published any of the details about their offerings as of yet, so hang tight on them. My family, well Wi******er and at least one of us (Matt or myself) may be doing both camps; it all depends on what Camp Durant comes out with in terms of what they’ll be offering in comparison to Camp Cherokee.

Either way, if you’re at all interested in taking your scout to overnight summer camp, please let me know so I can help facilitate getting you registered and all squared away to go and have a darn tootin good time!

The rodeo is coming to CSR this summer and Cub Scout packs are invited to join us for a few days of fun, fellowship and for many of you, your first time spending the night at a Scout camp!

There are two sessions available this year; Session 1 goes from August 2nd to August 5th while Session 2 spans from August 5th to August 8th.

New this year is that any parents who are wanting to participate in this year's Cub Scout Overnight Camp with their Scouts do NOT have to be registered adults with Scouting America in order to do so.

This is the only picture I have for today’s district races! Lol

However, I want to say I appreciate each and every single scout, scouter, parent, sibling, grandparent, and any other individual I didn’t list who not only showed up today, but provided a helping hand. From the set up, to checkin/registration (which I must confess was very poorly executed due to my ill preparedness and I take 100% responsibility for not having all the ducks in a row to flow better than it did), to racing, to concessions (which were on point), to MCing, to announcing, to running the race software, to DJing, to cheering, to cleaning up, and anything I missed in between.

Today absolutely could not have been made possible without all of us working together as a team. While most of us were from Pack 438, we had help from Pack 454, 400, 900, 605, 449, and others as well as a few Troops even 438, 449, and 900. The love was very much felt and the absolute best part was the youth having the time of their lives. Granted, we had a few track and individual heat snafus, but we followed our rules as written, re-ran those heats, and continued racing. The competition sure was fierce, but every scout conducted themselves with such courage, strength, determination, grit, enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and yes even a bit of patience. It sure was a aight to see! They all exemplified the Scout Oath and Law throughout the entire day. I am proud to be part of this community and even more proud to be part of this district. I sincerely hope that despite the challenges, we as race staff faced, all of our racers, expert car/theme designers, and spectators of all ages, from all walks of life understand, we were all just simply following the Cub Scout motto by, “Do(ing) y(Our) Best!”

Lastly, I hope more than anything that every individual who attended today’s event walked away with at least one lesson learned and at least one positive thing they could say about either their own individual performance or that of a fellow Den/Pack/Unit/Best Buddy. I know despite my shortcomings, I still had a ton of fun and thought today was overall a huge success! I’m already conjuring up plans and ideas for enhancements for next years race as well as loooking forward to seeing what these Eno River and Pack 438 scouts, in particular, will come up with next! 😉😝
