, volunteer service, philanthropic giving and civic duty. The late Marion Stubbs Thomas founded Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated on January 24, 1938 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Twenty mothers came together to discuss creating an organization to provide social, cultural and educational opportunities for youth between the ages of two and nineteen. Constitution and bylaws were drawn up and the organization was incorporated under the laws of the state of Delaware. Today, Jack and Jill boasts over 230 chapters nationwide, representing over 40,000 family members. Each chapter plans annual programming activities guided under a national theme. Through service projects, Jack and Jill of America creates a medium of contact for children to stimulate their growth and development.

“To us as mothers, it [Jack and Jill] has become a means of furthering an inherent and natural desire …to bestow upon our children all the opportunities possible for a normal and graceful approach to a beautiful adulthood.” Marion Stubbs Thomas

If you’ve got a MAIL BALLOT, please mark it with black or blue ink, and return it to the safe, secure drop box at to Vote 🗳️ If you need help obtaining or returning your mail ballot, please contact your county clerk . You cannot drop a Mail Ballot off at a polling place.

You can also vote on June 2, but why wait?! Of course, you can vote in your neighborhood polling place on Primary Day, June 2. Be sure to check your polling place location if you haven’t voted recently.

NEW THIS YEAR: 17 year olds who will be 18 by the November 3, 2026 general election are eligible to vote in the June 2 Primary. On May 2nd, CNJ Mother Trashaun led the way at the Promise Walk for Preeclampsia. We walked to bridge a deadly gap in maternal health.

The Reality:
Preeclampsia is a leading cause of maternal and fetal illness, marked by high blood pressure and organ damage. But the burden isn’t shared equally. In the U.S., Black women are 60% more likely to develop preeclampsia than white women. They face higher rates of severe, early-onset cases, leading to greater risks of preterm birth and mortality.

Know the Signs:

Severe headaches

Vision changes (blurring/spots)

Sudden swelling in hands/face

Upper abdominal pain

CNJ is proud to support Black maternal health initiatives. Education saves lives. Awareness saves families. CNJ is focused on caring on the community and children.
