Addressing the child care crisis and the need for high-quality, affordable child care is something families across the country have demanded for decades. MomsRising is partnering with moms, parents, and families to lift child care as a critical issue for families this election by having candidates for public office on local, state, and national levels to commit to truly stand with families by earning our Moms' of Approval on Child Care and to work with families to build comprehensive child care solutions.

We are bringing together parent advocates, child care champions, and candidates who have committed to our Mom Child Care Platform and will advance child care solutions when in office for our official Moms' Seal of Approval on Child Care virtual launch event on August 27th and we want YOU to join us! RSVP today to learn more about our Moms' Seal of Approval on Child Care and as a child care voter! https://www.mobilize.us/momsrisingtogether/event/673479/

Hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) is common in children under 5 years old, but anyone can get it. The illness is usually not serious, but it is very contagious. To prevent spreading HFMD, wash your hands often, clean and disinfect surfaces, and avoid close contact with others. https://www.cdc.gov/hand-foot-mouth/about/index.html

FREE WEBINAR
Wednesday, July 31st
6:00 PM - 7:30 PM

Tune in to take a look at 504 plans. Section 504 is federal civil rights law under the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. The U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR) administers Section 504—not the State. A 504 plan is designed to give students with disabilities or medical conditions equal access to the general education curriculum. We will explore accommodations and how they can be used to level the playing field for learners.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
Upon completion, participants will be able to:
• Summarize what Section 504 provides to students with disabilities
• List examples of accommodations
• Locate 504 resources

About Us

The Orange County Partnership for Young Children was founded as a nonprofit agency in 1993, as the first Smart Start agency in North Carolina. The mission of the Partnership is to ensure that all young children arrive at school healthy and ready to succeed. The Partnership serves as the administrator for the Smart Start Early Childhood Initiative and the More at Four Program in Orange County. Through the Partnership’s Smart Start and More at Four grants, we promote young children’s healthy development and school readiness by planning and funding a variety of programs that address the critical issues facing young children and their families.
