Northern Orange Black Voters is proud to endorse the 2026 Primary candidates who have demonstrated a commitment to equity, accountable leadership, and the wellbeing of Black families and the broader Orange County community.
After careful consideration, we are endorsing the following candidates and offices:
Roy Cooper – U.S. Senate, North Carolina
Valerie Foushee – U.S. House of Representatives, North Carolina’s 4th Congressional District
Renee Price – North Carolina House Representative - District 50
James Weldon Whalen – North Carolina Court of Appreals
Earl McKee – Orange County Board of Commissoners Division 2
Karen Stegman - Orange County Board od Commissoners At-Large
David LaBarre – Orange County Sherriff
Penny Rich – Orange County Register of Deeds
Will Atherton – Orange County Board of Education
