Handfuls Of Hope

Handfuls of Hope exists to share Jesus Christ through Missions, Education, and Evangelism 🫶🏽 We have a heart for the Dominican Republic.

Handfuls of Hope was founded by a group of individuals who have been involved in a series of short-term mission trips to the Dominican Republic. Returning to the same small village of Catalina for a number of years, and working in partnership with the same local church, we came to realize that our investment in the community was yielding long term relationships and making a lasting impact. Working

side-by-side with the local church, we were able to refurbish and revitalize a school building, construct a library, and establish a medical clinic in an area where such resources simply were not available. Our partnership has enabled that church to minister to their community, and beyond, in ways that previously were impossible. We want to continue our work there and we want to connect other groups and other organizations with communites such as Catalina. We believe that, with God's blessing, we can make a difference as those communities begin to change and, in turn, begin to reach out to their neighboring communities until, one day, an entire country has been changed by the love of God.

We are excited to announce that our next Handfuls of Hope Medical Mission Trip will take place October 15–19, 2026, in the Dominican Republic! 🇩🇴

We are so grateful for everyone who has joined us on previous trips, and we are excited to welcome both returning volunteers and those joining us for the very first time.

Together, we will serve communities in need by providing medical care, support, hope, and most importantly, sharing God’s love. 🙏❤️

We believe this upcoming trip will be even more impactful as we continue working together to make a difference in the lives of others.

What a beautiful way to close out the summer serving together, loving others, and sharing God’s love! ❤️

We are incredibly grateful for the Hawthorne Church family and the incredible impact they made throughout an entire week in the community of Catalina, Dominican Republic. Together with Handfuls of Hope and Iglesia Bíblica Viva Gracia, they brought encouragement, hope, and practical help to so many people.

One of the most meaningful moments was helping Sister Mary, a member of Iglesia Bíblica Viva Gracia. Through the generous support of Hawthorne Missions, her home was completely repaired, painted, and filled with so much love. Despite her health challenges, her gratitude and joy reminded us once again why we serve. 🏠❤️

The team also hosted a BVS (Vacation Bible School), reaching around 100 children with a week filled with fun, love, and the message of God’s Word. We were also blessed to have Catherine from Hawthorne Church spend time with the girls through our discipleship group, encouraging them to walk in purity, guard their hearts, and live boldly for Christ. 💕✨

They also blessed children with special needs by donating 100 school-supply kits, supported projects and needs at the local school, and helped meet many other needs throughout the community.

We are so thankful to God for the Hawthorne Church family, for their servant hearts, and for the beautiful partnership He has allowed us to build.

When we come together, God can use our hands, our time, and our hearts to make a lasting impact. 🙏🏽❤️

This week, we are having the privilege of serving alongside an amazing team from Novation Church in Denver, Colorado. Their hearts for serving and sharing God’s love have been a tremendous blessing.

Together, they helped with school projects to prepare for the upcoming school year, spent time with our Kids Club, served children with special needs, distributed food to families in the community, visited the Children’s Hospital in Santo Domingo, and participated in many other outreach activities that blessed both those who were served and those who came to serve.

All glory to God! Thank you, Novation Church, for serving with willing hearts and for being the hands and feet of Jesus. We are grateful for your partnership, your love, and the lasting impact you’ve made this week.

Day 3 and the final day of our medical mission with Handfuls of Hope and AMSA🙏✨

What an amazing way to close out these three days of service, love, and purpose. We were blessed to care for so many families and finish with a total of 1,200 people served throughout the mission.

Every volunteer, doctor, team member, and supporter who showed up made a difference. Thank you for giving your time, energy, and heart to serve others.

Most of all, we give God all the glory for guiding every detail, protecting every trip, watching over our team, and making all of this possible.

This may be the end of this mission, but it’s only the beginning of what’s ahead. Thank you to everyone who was part of this incredible experience.
