Camp Wediko

Camp Wediko is a six-week residential camp that serves children and teens ages 8-18 experiencing complex social, emotional and behavioral challenges.

For nearly 90 years, Camp Wediko has thoughtfully combined a true summer camp experience with therapy and individual supports, providing a fun-filled seasonal adventure for youth who otherwise wouldn’t have access to such a key developmental experience. At Camp Wediko, every day brings new milestones: learning to swim, making a new friend or simply finding new confidence. Thirteen-year-old Willow* found her confidence in connecting with fellow campers, after a childhood of struggling to develop positive relationships.

While at camp, Willow received the support and encouragement she needed to discover her potential. She is now managing her emotions, opening herself up to others and sees Camp Wediko as a home away from home.

For six summers, Emmett* has called Camp Wediko home.

When Emmett first arrived, expressing his emotions felt overwhelming. When he was upset, he wrote down his thoughts to share them with others, instead of speaking. It was his way of being heard.

With support from camp staff, Emmett worked hard to strengthen his communication. Today, it is one of his strong suits. And now, Emmett is looking ahead with a new goal: to return one day as a staff member and support other campers!

It's a Summer Jamboree! 😎

The Wediko team recently brought together staff from both The Wediko School and Camp Wediko to connect, mingle, and give a warm welcome to the camp team as they join us for the season. The afternoon was filled with lawn games, a build-your-own ice cream sundae bar and a fun photo booth setup to capture happy summer memories as a group.

This is a team that values camaraderie and collaboration, which shines through everything they do. Best of luck to our staff as they embark on another camp session!

All of us here at Camp Wediko are so excited to welcome Gavin Meade as our new Program Director!

Gavin steps into this new role with five summers as a Camp Wediko staff member under his belt, so he is no stranger to the program and our community. He is excited to continue working with children and families from all across the country and eager to meet new staff who will be spending their first summer with us.

In the off-season, Gavin is working on his doctorate in clinical psychology, specializing in children and families. When he isn't tending to his studies, he enjoys hiking in the White Mountains and being made fun of by his sisters.
