Last night we hosted our quarterly Court of Honor! Our scouts received recognition for their hard work via merit badges and we had a rank up to First Class! Seeing these scouts smiling faces when they get their merit badges is so awesome 🤩

Our troop typically does a potluck for our ceremony and as you can see, the brownie sundaes were a hit 😉

Merit badges earned:
Weather
Environmental Science
Fingerprinting
Game Design

Did you know there are certain exercises disc golfers do to strengthen their core for the sport?? Our scouts tried out a couple as we continued working on the Disc Gold Merit Badge. They watched a video explaining the history as well and participated in some discussion.

Scouts is not only about physical activity but also learning about interesting topics and concepts. Can’t wait to see what we learn in the next Merit Badge!

Happy Labor Day weekend to everyone!! Your Troop 240 Scouts along with our charter organization, The American Legion Post 6, were up early this morning placing flags in downtown Hillsboro and at the flag pole off Cornell & 21st.

We are honored to have carried on this tradition for Hillsboro for several years as a Troop. Service projects are a big piece of Scouting. Teaching our youth to give back and support their community instills them with good values that will shape theirs and future generations to come.

We recently worked on a key Scouting skill - Knots & Lashings. Our scouts worked on mastering the clove hitch and timber hitch. Using those knot methods they worked together to make a basic standing structure!

Are you ready to join us for our next adventure??
