Missouri veterans didn’t leave their communities just by choice; they left because they answered the call to serve our nation. But when they return home, they deserve more than a highway or a park named in their honor. They deserve real economic opportunity.

Right now, Missouri’s state contract participation goal for Service-Disabled Veteran Enterprises (SDVEs) is just 3%—a number that does little to empower those who risked everything. We are calling on Missouri leaders to raise that goal to 22% in recognition of the 22 veterans we lose every day to su***de.

Increasing SDVE participation to 22% isn’t just a symbolic gesture—it’s a commitment to ensuring that veterans have the resources, opportunities, and stability they need to thrive after service. It’s a way to turn gratitude into action.
