Do you live in Highland County or a surrounding county, and grow produce in your own garden? Do you know someone who does? We at Strangers Helping Strangers are putting together a program where we collect fresh produce and distribute it to people in need here.
Strangers Helping Strangers is a 501c3 based in Hillsboro that provides free community meals throughout the year, and performs community projects to help people in need in Highland and surrounding counties. We are committed to helping address food insecurity, we are people of faith, and we believe in the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) platform that focuses on growing food in a healthful way, locally sourcing food, knowing where our food comes from, AND getting this food to people in need.
SHS is operated solely by volunteers, and we all live in Highland County. We will post updates on upcoming events and projects, and we welcome volunteers and donations. We would like to expand our network of food pantries and food banks, churches, and other organizations to team up on the aforementioned issues!
