Today is Father's Day in El Salvador, and we recognize that Father's Day can bring a lot of different emotions.

For some people, Father's Day is a celebration.

For others, it's complicated.

Some are celebrating fathers who are present and loving. Some are remembering fathers who have passed away. Some are grieving the father they never had. Some are fathers carrying the weight of providing, protecting, and leading their families. Some are mentors, coaches, pastors, and father figures who have stepped into a role they didn't have to fill but chose to anyway.

The truth is that the word 𝑓𝑎𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟 means something different to each of us.

But no matter your story, there is hope in knowing that we have a Heavenly Father who never leaves, never forgets, and never stops loving His children.

Today, we celebrate the men who show up, sacrifice, lead, encourage, protect, teach, and love well. 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑙𝑑 𝑛𝑒𝑒𝑑𝑠 𝑚𝑜𝑟𝑒 𝑚𝑒𝑛 𝑙𝑖𝑘𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡.

To all of the dads and father figures in the MAE family: thank you. Your influence reaches far beyond what you can see, and the next generation is better because of you.

A generation that can find almost anything online is still searching for meaning.

Searching for identity.
Searching for hope.
Searching for peace.

Jesus made a promise that no algorithm can:
"Seek and you will find."

At MAE we are watching youth lean into that promise.

And we believe what they find will change everything.

🎉 Happy Birthday, Nelly & Adriana! 🎉

Today we want to give a very special birthday shout-out to two incredible young ladies who are a blessing to the MAE family!

Nelly and Adriana are MAE scholarship recipients, members of our worship team where they faithfully serve on the keyboard, and active members of our running club. They are both smart, creative, kind, and responsible young women who consistently set a great example for others.

We are so grateful for the opportunity to walk alongside them, watch them grow, and have them as part of the MAE family. Their dedication, servant hearts, and positive attitudes make our ministry better every day.

Nelly and Adriana, we pray that God blesses you abundantly in this new year of life and continues to guide your steps as you follow Him.

🚨 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠: 𝐌𝐀𝐄 𝐌𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 🚨

Over the years, we've heard a lot of questions and assumptions about MAE. So we thought it would be fun to start a new series tackling some of the most common misconceptions about our ministry.

Today's myth:

❌ MYTH: MAE has a school.

✅ REALITY: MAE is not an accredited school.

We understand where the confusion comes from. Education is a major part of our ministry. Through literacy classes, tutoring, scholarships, and other educational programs, we work to help prevent school dropout and support youth and adults who need help continuing their education.

But MAE is not a school.

We are a Christian youth ministry that uses education, discipleship, sports, mentoring, and relationships to fearlessly reach the forgotten youth of El Salvador with Christ's love and restore hope to their lives.

Why is MAE’s educational program different?

Because our model is rooted in the heart of Christ — reaching the ones often overlooked, struggling, forgotten, and left behind.

The students who need extra support.
The students who have fallen behind academically.
The students carrying trauma, instability, or difficult home lives.
The students many people stop noticing.

At MAE El Salvador, we believe every young person has value, purpose, and God-given potential. That’s why our educational program goes beyond academics to create an environment where vulnerable youth are supported, encouraged, discipled, and reminded that their story is not over.

And that changes the way learning looks.
