With the help of Support Our Troops Of Highland County and the Highland County Veterans Services Office, we were able to kick off one of our 🇺🇸 projects on July 4th this year - we have a goal to send out at least 250 💌 cards to local Troops serving our country away from home and Veterans that are homebound or in care facilities before December 1st - and it’s going great!!

So far, we have set up a card signing booth at Highland County’s America 250 celebration, another one at the recent Highland County National Night Out, the DAR Waw-wil-way Chapter is having all their members fill out and sign a card AND NOW - we are welcoming other individuals, businesses and organizations to join in and send some good vibes to those who are, or have served our country!!

If you’d like to join us in this project, all you need to do is send a text message to 937.763.8164 to get set up with a card(s).

Thank you so much to 🎗️Support Our Troops Of Highland County for sponsoring all the postage and helping with the admin side of addressing all of them, and all the cards were supplied by the 🇺🇸Highland County Veterans Services!!! This project wouldn’t be possible with their generous support!!

📛 SIDEBAR 📛
If you have a local Service Member serving abroad, or know of a Veteran that is housebound or in a care facility, and you’d like them to receive one of these special cards, again, simply send a text message to 937.763.8164 for details!!!

🔥OFF THE PRESSES!!🔥
The Cincinnati Vet Center is returning to starting next month!

For the remainder (at least) of 2026, our office will co-host closed-door services for qualified individuals on the third Friday each month from 10:00a-2:00p.

📅 Scheduled appointments are encouraged to reserve a preferred time for your schedule by calling (513) 651-8488, but walk-in consultations *𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒏𝒐𝒕* be turned away.

We understand that some things hit 'too close to home,' and that's why our dedicated staff is thrilled to have the returning to join us in serving those who've served - and their families!

Our own Chapter Commander, Shawn Carter, is a vital member of Support Our Troops Of Highland County - he’s been an advocate of our Active Duty Service Members since his own discharge in 1995; his father was a USMC Purple Heart Vietnam Veteran, his brother is a Major in the U.S. ARMY AGR, and his nephew is a Sergeant, also in the U.S. Army.

🛑 Have you ever wondered how our organization started?

🗓️ Established in 2004 by Sarah Ryan with the support of Paulette Donley, Support Our Troops Of Highland County was founded to create a central and local system of support for our area Service-Members and their families. Within a few weeks of these efforts being underway, Sarah had grabbed the attention of several community members, including Chris Gutierrez, Barb Vergamini and Rhonda Mason, and her mission took off, and to this day is fulfilling it’s duties!!

🇺🇸 Our Mission Statement is:

“Showing a continued effort of support to our local Troops, U.S. Military Veterans and their Families, in any way
we possibly can, as a means of letting them know they are not being forgotten.
Our main goal is sending support to our OCONUS Troops via Care Packages, Letters and Cards, etc. throughout the
year, based on community donations and contributions.”

💯 Since early 2004, 🎗️SOTOHC has had community support from many local military family members and their friends, and today you can see the faces of those who are continuing to make things happen for those who are serving our country. The generosity of our volunteers’ willingness to run fundraisers, shop, sort and pack boxes, fill out cards, run administrative errands and take time out their evenings and weekends promoting and soliciting our cause is just “the norm” for them.

🎗️We came into this year having sent thousands of care-packages and even more cards and hours donated - accomplishing our own for 2️⃣2️⃣ years strong, now‼️
