Jefferson County COAD Promoting whole-community disaster resilience in Jefferson County through collaborative planning and coordinated response.

The Jefferson County COAD is an umbrella organization bringing together stakeholders interested in building better prepared and more disaster-resilient communities in Jefferson County. It provides a network through which individual organizations can more effectively address their mission and service goals. COAD members include (but are not limited to) churches, service organizations, non-profits a

nd public safety agencies. Member organizations maintain their autonomy while working to reduce duplication of services and other inefficiencies that too easily occur during times of disaster. The COAD will work as a group to direct those impacted by disaster to the organization that is best suited to assist with their recovery needs. If necessary, the COAD may form a long-term recovery committee that will work with case managers to ensure critical needs are met and that a path to recovery is established for those impacted by the disaster.

Dangerous Cold this Weekend - NWS confidence is high that very cold temperatures (near zero) will combine with wind to produce dangerously cold wind chill values of -10° to -20°, with a few spots potentially as low as -25°. The coldest period will be early Sunday morning. There remains some uncertainty in just how extreme the wind chill values will be, however, it is certain that dangerous cold will impact our area.

Severe weather in the forecast for tomorrow, Saturday, 10/18/2025, to include possibility of damaging winds and/or hail, weak tornadoes could also form. These are primarily forecast for the noon to 6pm as a likelihood, but be alert and utilize all forms of alerting systems available to you, (radio, tv, cell phone alerts and social media, etc.)

For those who may have applied for FEMA assistance for the March 14th and 15th storms, if you have received a denial letter, be aware of some ways you can appeal;

Four ways survivors can appeal and the link to the information page for FEMA’s appeal process.

1. St. Louis DRCs: DRC Locator (applicants don’t have to be located in these areas, you can visit from outside of the area to talk to a real person)

The Small Business Administration offers loans to small businesses, nonprofits, homeowners and renters that have been affected by the March 14-15, 2025 severe storms in Jefferson County, MO.

To apply online, visit sba.gov/disaster. Applicants may also call SBA’s Customer Service Center at (800) 659-2955 or email [email protected] for more information on SBA disaster assistance. For people who are deaf, hard of hearing, or have a speech disability, please dial 7-1-1 to access telecommunications relay services.

Jefferson County residents affected by the March 14-15 disaster, the deadline to apply for assistance is fast approaching. July 22, 2025 will be the last day you will be able to register for FEMA Individual Assistance if you have sustained damages from from this storm.
